Personally I'm not a fan of the suicide clutch. No doubt it looks wicked az and cool as f*ck and very much an individual statement. But Shazz, don't you live in Sydney (or was it Melbourne)? Whatever, masses of traffic? If the bike tips to the left you'll put your foot down for balance and there's you launched into the intersection! 

But at the risk of upsetting the Forum hard men and being labelled Mr Safety Concious in a cardigan, I gotta say they're dangerous and they're called 'suicide' for a reason. If this is your daily rider it's worth having a bit of a think.

Yeah, and fit an ashtray too. Call me a cardigan as well. Suicide shifts are hard core cool, but I can't see how the bike would be better to ride with one of these, more like outright dangerous in traffic. I live up a steep hill, and the thought of trying a steep hill start with one of these leaves me in a cold sweat.....

 Or buy a WLA for practice. They are usually so beat up already and extra bump won't matter!

I have to say I have a 48 and live in Sydney and I am thinking of doing it. I do admit that my bike is not my only version of transport, but I think for the individualism of it I could live with the down sides.

Ugh.. its those 'lost garage'  douchebags.. they are typical 'hipster' bobber scene guys putting their shitty pinstriping all over things (check their site), and then blogging their inner most opinions on all that is hip and cool..

At first, it's a bit tedious, but after a few days riding  you can ride it without even thinking, second nature, just like driving a manual car.  Just before pulling up at the lights, slight turn your bars to the left & your bike will always tip to the right for you to push down the clutch. You should always make a habit of being in neutral before pulling up. And launching into the traffic is a load of rubbish! What happens when you drop the clutch, wether it be foot or hand without any gas? the bike stalls, so basically you don't go anywhere so you just suffer the embarrasment of having to start it up again. If you ever drop to the left while it gear, just grab the brakes & the bike will simply stall.  They are only ' suicide' if you don't run front brakes like they do in the US.
