This is the first custom seat I've found for a Rocker C to replace the pillion trick seat setup for something more "usable"

    http://www.corbin.com/harley/softail/hdst8rokdt.shtml

Not quite what I was looking for .

What do you guys think ?

Anyone found other options to replace the Rocker C seat, other than the FXCW Rider's Essentials Kit 96379-08 (Touring Passenger Pillion, Sissy Bar Upright, Backrest Pad) ?

    g'day kiteman,

When I placed my order in August 2007 I was told August 2008. At xmas 2007 I was told between Nov 2008 and April 2009. Last week I was told July(ish). So my fingers are crossed for July.

    When's your's due ?

Still haven't found a good pillion option yet .... but I'm still searching

In July 07 I was told November to December 07. In November 07 I was told June - July 08. In about Feb 08 I was told early July 08 which is what I'm hoping for now!!

I don't blame the Harley dealer(s) for this..... it's way out of their hands!!! Sometimes you just need a little patience, it will be worth the wait!!

It's a bit frustrating as I keep seeing this dude with the same blue Rocker C as mine drive past the end of my street but I'm buggered if I can find where he lives!!! I just want to get a close look at one! Where in Perth are you?

PS I'm away on hols May 31 to July 7.

No I don't blame the dealer either .... well worth the wait thats for sure !!! I am in Seoul (Korea) this week and one of the dealerships I went to today had a Crimson Red Rocker C on the floor. Man I can't wait to get mine, it is one hot bike !!!

I'm in Wanneroo. I'm keeping my 2008 FXSTC for when I need to take pillion and use the FXCWC for solo rides with the boys !!

I believe there are 6 Rocker's coming into Morley in July

Looks like you and me just might end up meeting on Delivery Day!!! I'm pretty sure one of those 6 must have my name on it!!!

By the way, you can get the "Essentials Kit" without the screen at a lower price.  Looking forward to catching up!!

    cheers

    G'day Mate,

Saw my blue "C" today and will pick up in the next few days. Do you have yours yet? I was told that the first blue one went to Wanneroo.

    cheers

    Hi Neil,

Looks like the Blue C's all came in together.  Apparently HD shipped the black 1st, then crimson's and then the blue.  Doesn't worry me as the main thing is it's here now and actually a month earlier than I was told it would be in August last year when I placed the order.... so happy with that !

Yep mine came into the dealership the day before I flew out to Rome for work last Tuesday.  Can't wait to pick it up July 17 when I get back. Couldn't believe the timing when I got the call

I assume it's prolly been PD'd and is sitting on the showroom floor now.

Hope the weather is fine when I get back !!!

Rome sounds like a great place to be!! I just got back from annual hols in Bali so can't complain.

Picked up my blue RockerC from Frasers today and there's another in the workshop completing pre-delivery (I assume). I believe they have only delivered 1 of the same colour/model and it was also to Wanneroo several weeks back. I'm guessing that the guy I saw on a blue "C" here in South Freo was on BY plates as another mate saw a BY plated one in Freo around 7 weeks ago.

The bike feels different to my 88 inch 2003 Wideglide. MUCH lighter in the feel of the controls. Very light clutch and brake levers only really need 1 finger operation but I use 2 or more through habit. Gearchange is very smooth with less delay from de-clutching to the classic HD "clunk" when you kick the shift pedal. You only get clunked at clutch + half second instead of clutch + 3 seconds like the 88's. Sorry to bore the readers who already have 96's!

The bike feels like it weighs more like say 150 kg than 300kg which I assume is due to the lower seat position relative to the fairly regular bar grip height. It's hard to believe that you could drop it (at standstill) if it goes lower than say 30 degrees from upright. The motor is fast-revving and smooth but sadly it currently sounds like a Post Office bike!!

I'm picking up my personal plates tomorrow "ROCKERC". Anyone wanna own up to getting "FXCWC" before I did?? You must have been bloody quick to get in on that one!! ...........hahahahahahha...... :)) The 5-digit plate is much narrower than the regular 7-digit one. I ordered mine within a week of the USA HD 2008 model release on the Net in July 2007 as did many other riders.

The bike looks "different" and will take a while for lots of folk to appreciate much like the V-rod did a few years back. What really matters is that "I" like it. I hope others like it too but I don't really mind if they don't!

I would like to sincerely thank Graham Jeanes at Frasers for his assistance and frankness over the last year since I placed my order.

    Rock On !!!

Hey Greg...... give me a call on 9387-5676 (work) when you get back. I work in Wembley, maybe we can compare notes and plan on a few shiny bits!!

    cheers

Why did you buy a Rocker C if you don't like the seat arrangement, Why not just buy the Rocker?

The Rocker looks pretty crappy when you put a Rocker "C" next to it. I just put a Rocker front seat on my "C" for $180 extra and then fitted the separate pillion setup which fits both models although was designed for the Rocker.  My missus loves it to the point of almost falling asleep the other day!

    Hi Neil,

Picked up my Rocker C on Thursday morning.  Saw the blue and crimson ones on the floor too.  The crimson Rocker C is available for sale.  Apparently HD shipped an additional bike in our shipment.

Went for a ride out to Swan Valley on Sunday for breakfast and my wife found the "trick-seat" very comfortable. I will still take the FXSTC on long runs as that's going to be more comfortable for her, but the Rocker C pillion seems good for 1/2day rides.

I'm still keen to look at other options for the pillion on my C. Can you put up pics of your's now ?

    Cheers

    Greg

I've just been testing and hope I get this right with uploading pics. My apologies if I have stuffed it up!

Pic 1 is the Rocker C (FXCWC) with the regular "Trick Seat"

Pic 2 shows the front seat replaced with the Standard FXCW seat and rear pillion+luggage rack fitted. You can't see the rack... it's a nice chrome job.

Pic 3 shows the complete rear pillion setup. I know it looks a bit weird in the pics...but... it really doesn't seem half as bad in real life. Bike is not yet lowered.

Check out the difference in front seat height between Pics 1 and 2.

Here's hoping you can see them!

    cheers
