BLANK/ BILLET CAMS

G'day

Got a mechanic mate who wants to have some Sporty cams ground to a custom profile and timing not available off the shelf.

Does anybody sell blank or billet cams ready for grinding to a custom profile? If they are available does anyone know who can grind them?

I tried Wade cams in Melbourne and I've tried searching the web with no luck.

Thanks in advance

HEAT WRAP QUESTIONS

Hi guys have got another post going about heat wraps on cermic pipes but here a few more questions if anyone can help

Most of the forums i have been reading just say about the moisture rotting the pipes out.

I live in the out back of Queenslan it rain bugger all and is very F*%king hot the rest of the time so i dont think there would be much build up of moisture in the wrap.

One guy said he wrapped his 8 years ago and they are still good.

Is it a moisture problem or heat faituge on the metal ???

Thanks in advance

Bassani road rage 2 into 1

I fitted a Bassani road rage this weekend and this thing is loud I mean very loud I gave my bike a rev to 5 thousand rpm and my ears where ringing for a couple hours. I fitted a supertrapp end cap to reduce the noise and it sounds like crap so back to the drawing board to design a quite baffle. I got ripped off big time with this pipe both headers where wrapped in heat wrapp fucking the ceramic and the clown welded rusty bungs into each silver header not only that he welded the rear pipe bung in backwards facing the exhaust port. It can be fixed and recoated in silver or black ceramic but there's another $200 I was not planing on spending on this exhaust

coil or carb?

Anyone got an answer to this one?

94 evo softy

dyna S ign. dyna twin fire coil.

S&S super E carb.

Bike runs on F cyl and not B cyl at idle.

Off idle both running sort of OK.

changed over plugs, drained fuel bowl, changed leads.

same result, inspected coil and wiring, looked OK.

Batt. OK.

It' sounds like pilot jet out of adjust or about to run out of fuel

but still runs on F pot strong.

Checked Batt Earth

Would a faulty coil primary winding give this result?

I live a long way from a HD source so need a calculated

informate. Cheers if U have the information.

PS. It's been running like a clock till now and got a good dose of rain

last trip back from Pattaya 3 weeks ago!

Points on 83 1000cc Sportster

Hey,

I have only had this bike a couple of weeks, and decided to give it a tune.

Pulled the points cover off, and discovered a set of points in there.

Pulled the ignition module cover off, and discovered that the ignition module is still in place.

Is it probable that someone has replaced the triggers with points, but still used the ignition module?

Is there any way to check if this is the case?

If this is what has been done, why?

any help would be appreciated.

Twincam into shovel frame progress

Posted some progress with my project about fitting 03 Dyna twincam and trans into a 70 shovel frame about a year ago, well just gota paint the tank and it's finished. Gona call it the MONGREL, cause it all made of the following bits: Frame 1970 FLH Shovel, Modified, 2003 Dyna motor trans, and electrical, 2008 Wideglide front end with 2010 fatbob sliders and front fender, VRod rear shocks, 2008 FLH chrome smoothie wheels and tyres, 2005 fatboy forward floorboards and foot controls, 2009 FXDB handlebars and hand controls (used 11/16 front master for dual front disc), 2005 dyna rear brake, with 2005 FLH front brakes, early sporty tank, a combinatination of softail and dyna exhaust, and lots of custom made stuff! its nearly all genuine new and used Harley apart from the aftermarket early FLH rear fender and Lepera seat. Just a word of advice, some genuine HD parts are cheap, for example, 2003 dyna fueltap assy complete was only about AU$35. so if you are building a custom it dosn't hurt to check genuine HD prices first! Have posted some pics.
