Trued and welded? Does that mean that the crank is balanced and the crank pins are welded in place?
I have heard the term a few times but was unsure what it specifically related to.
 

Looks like they have taken some material off the con rods, did you get them balanced at the same time?

Those welds have got that "row of coins" look about 'em, noice!!

hi, el bruto could be spelt , el rooted ive heard  of some big melt downs & some that are ok  ,  its a lucky dip buy the sounds of them,?

its not a bad idea to balance the crank if its not done  depends on the weight of the pistons etc  , big forged pistons  all ways  weight more,   its up to the builder + $

you've got way too much time and money on your hands Stix.... but will be watching with interest anyway.....................................

was looking at the dyno weather setting that must have been dynoed @ high alititude probably about 1,700 meters   or 5600ft the tune needed it WA would be heaps different. see if you can get a timmed graph of that run and post it just to see how quick it can make the horses.

Johnny Irland ( Johnny Hog ) from down in Victoria ( Melb ) has a Twin Cam Dyna that has 4 1/2" stroke S&S flywheels i don't know much about the build But Johnny is a Nice Bloke so is his son, they are like you and me, they let the time ticket do there talking. Johnny has home made pipes ( by the look ) s&s G carb S&S heads no wheelie bar street tyres and he runs mid 10's 125mph ( i think?) i'm going off what i've seen him do in qualifying racing Modified bike class up here at WSID. Johnny would tell you what HP & TQ he has he is very open and loves bikes and racing. i seen him go out the hole with the front wheel that bloody high, he had everyone talking and not just bike racers, then he shifted and the front wheel wen up just as bloody high as out the hole, stock frame stock swingarm, it was going up that high i think he had to back off or it would flip back.  he was runing 16" spoke rear wheel stock HD for the year, 19" front, but last time he raced it up here about a year ago he had laced a 17" rim on for a better tyre.

now he is too busy with his Son racing a bloody quick pro stock bike, but i'll bet Johnny will be up here for that Sy's Brag N Drag, i just hope Walker comes up too

screaming eagle do a 120ci kit that runs 135hp, uses mva heads, 4 5/8" crank. is there any reason you went wit the S/E cam plate? the fueling cam plate and pump are bout 30% bigger than S/E. i think at those figures a set of timken tapered crank bearings would be nicer than the lefty bearings, should be a damn fun bike tho

Any reason why you didnt just go with the S&S 124 kit?

You would have got 1 year warranty, 4 5/8 stroke crank, ACR heads with triple valve springs, etc etc....

You are braver than I am welding a S&S crank. Can you rebuild it now??

The SE cam plate looks cool, mine is running a Feuling, which was overkill but anyhooo.

I was heading up to the WSID drags last night to run my bike again, never got there tho, thanks to a couple of undercover cops. Gonna be a few months before I run her again...

this is the first good close up pic i've seen of the Axtell cyl's. the EVO & Shovel one's i'd seen here were all nodular cast iron, never seen them alloy with cast iron liner before, but knew they were making them.

What clearance do they recomend?

make sure you put those clips in right way around or they can come out.

what size will the cases have to be sized out to to fit?

also will those pistons match your SE heads chamber?

ps they have always called there big bore kits Mountain Motors ( just seen it on the plastic ring container.

If the parts are made in the USA no duty is payable. Make sure the invoice has "all goods made in the USA" clearly printed on it. Then just pay 10% GST...

I was thinking we had free trade with USA, but as u said Stix important thing is you got them home.

Incidently, I've just finished my "minor" build compared to yours. Will do a separate thread shortly, suffice to say, she pulling like a "cheap hooker". I've already had a 103 stage 3 kit. Added SE 258 cams, SE flat top pistons, 50mm throttle bodies, Hallam flowed and ported heads. Had it dynotuned and getting some good numbers. Anyway, I digrees. Don't mean to hijack your thread.

Please keep a tally of your spendings since we both know, it's never enough!
