I know that waynekerr has installd them and I am thinking of doing it myself. I understand that night train and softail standard forward bolt straight up without any further mods.

    Any input waynekerr?

I've been keeping an eye out trying to get a set but nothing seems to be coming up at the moment.
Harder to find than I would have thought.

Has anyone fitted forward controls to an 08 Fatboy?

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I’d revive this old one. I’m thinking about installing a set of reduced reach forward controls on my 2016 Fatboy Lo, but I have not been able to locate anything to read that defines exactly the procedure, but also what else needs to change, like the rear brake line, the shifter rod etc. I have the Deep Cut shifter and brake sets installed at the moment, and would like to drop the floor boards, but keep the Deep Cut components I have (they cost an arm and a leg) I like the look of them. HD do not seems to sell kits for 2016 Fatty Lo.
Does anybody have experience doing this, and also which products I can buy that will allow me to continue to use the stuff I already have?

Thanks again in advance for your comments, and insights, PB, lets try and keep this thread friendly for a change!

P.S. I’ll do a write up on the install if I find something suitable and within my cheap arsed budget, if that will help anyone in the future.

Thanks hilly, what year fxst are you referring to? Do you have a part number by any chance, and are they available in black?

Thank you hilly, that’s amazing mate! I read about them, it does say for taller riders however and I’m bordering on dwarf! I’m 5ft 5”, with a short in-seam (I’ll measure it) so I’m worried I won’t reach the forward controls, hence why I was looking for reduced reach. Also I notice that I can’t use my engine guard with these installed. you’ve given me a great starting point, thanks again.

So hilly, I went down to the stealer today and found a fatboy in the workshop with forward controls, and I can barely reach the fuckin foot peg and neither the brake pedal nor the the gear selector without pushing my balls up flat against the tank. So I guess it ain’t gonna be forward controls for me. I’m now looking at the Arlen Ness Deep Cut floor boards instead, but hey, thanks for your info and informative responses, much appreciated.

Ordered the deep cut driver boards from JP Cycles on the 23rd, they were dispatched same day and arrived via UPS today! How’s that for service?
They look big though, like fuckin surfboard big, I hope they gonna look alright on the bike, I reckon they so big I could take a stroll along them!

I changed my footboards for a set and prefer them so much more. I didn't manage to get my set for $100 (what a steal)I think I paid around $250 but that's a whole lot cheaper than going through Harley. Sometimes a set will pop up and you'll have to grab them as they are popular.I also looked at getting a new whizzbang set off eBay but many don't come with the side stand and you go up in the $500 range and higher.
As previously said installation is a breeze, 3 bolts either side and the master cylinder
