Working on a Gold Mine in the Morobe Province (near Lae) called Hidden Valley - Mines perched on top of a mountain range 8000ft above seal level and employs approx 2000 locals, lot's of civil unrest around the place so driving to & from Lae (150km) is always a denagerous proposition (worse then Melbourne) All the road infrastructure in the region is stuffed, essentially nothing has been done since Australia gave em' Independence 35 years ago. Lots of racial killings & bashings against the Sepics from the north who have left their region to move into Lae / Bulolo (bit like toursit season at home - but without the Blood)
No a great place to work - but it pays the bloody mortgage & keeps beer in the fridge
