G.day all, Sunshine Coast, Qld here. Great to see an Aussie site like this thanks to ever put it together. Been riding for more than 30 years now but had no bike for the last 4, finaly decided to get my ass back where it belongs. Ordered a 2008 xl 883 back in August should be here mid november, shit its been a long wait talk about hanging out. Feels like it was when i was a kid and xmas seemed to never come. Have ridden lots of different bikes, european and crap jap, motocross, enduros, a little club road racing, LOTS of street racing This will be my second HD, my first bike was a 125cc HD dirt bike (Airamachi!) can you believe that! Whish i still had it be worth a mint now lol. If  you own a sporty and you see a balding old guy standing next to your bike with a look of lust in his eyes take pity on him its probably me. Thanks again for putting this site together I have already got some good tips on setting up the sporty. Untill we meet again stay upright boys and girls.

    Pub,
Welcom to the forum, good to have another sporty owner (to be) on board. I don't regred getting mine, it was 23 degrees in here in Adelaide yesterday and clear sky, I rode to work and whent for a short ride at lunch but I remember thinking just how good it was to ride the sporty, I love it.

Hi crasher, yeah your right mate still a lot of boy racer left yet, I keep promising my kids i will grow up one day until then catch me if you can! I picked the sporty because i wanted a good honest simple uncomplicated no frills attached motrcycle that would at least handle better than a stranded whale without being so quick i would be dead in a week. Took a couple of new jap 600s for a ride, man  they are quick if i had one of them 30 years ago i would have been australian champion lol! But to be honest i dont have the reaction time i had then but i still hate being passed by some young bloke who reckons he knows how to ride (he probably does!) and would either have lost my licence in the first month or been dead. Hence the sporty, a real motorbike that i can just ride for the pure pleasure of being on the road but has the potential to be quick enough to remove the cobwebs when needed. ps i do have plans of having the fastest 883 around, at least in this neck of the woods, cant help myself
