The fournales are a great shock but dont deal with the Australian Distributor he is a very arrogent frenchman that resides in Tasmania and has the utmost disrespect for Australians.i recommend to you riders out there that if you are thinking of buying a set of Fournales then buy them from the U.S.A distributor A R Harley, they are a great bunch of guys and cheaper too.

Had a set of Fournales on my Shovel for bloody years. Bloody brilliant bit of gear.
Wish I could afford to get a set for the Evo. (not that I can ride at the moment, but I can still tinker )
Didn't buy them of Le Frog.At the time he was in Victoria. He did service the shocks for me once,
was reasonable (Pricewise)and did a good job. Then he went to Tassie and I heard he had gotten very uppity.
Got the shits with people buying them overseas and put a complaint with the Factory.
They then banned the Brit dealers from shipping them here.
But there's more than one way to skin a cat. I'm sure if you can get them shipped to a local address in the UK or USA
and resent you can get them cheaper.

Yeah i bought a pair of Fournales a while ago too but, when i tried to buy them from the Australian distributor, my e mail was never responded to so i found the U.S.A distributor and he was great. He responded to my e mail immeadietly and was a pleasure to do business with so, i had no hesitation in purchaseing them from the states.Dont get me wrong i think the Fournales are a great product too, its just a shame that the Aussie distributor is such an arrogant asshole from france.I could understand his attitude if the shocks were made in Australia but they arent they are made in france.

Id rather support and line the pockets of a great American team of guys, with the profit margin, that they make on these shocks, than some arrogent frenchman. After all America is the land and birth of the finest motorcycle ever made Harley Davidson.

I just dont get Fournales actions in telling us where we can buy them from, they are still  being manufactured in France and the money still goes to them. The only reason that makes sense is they want their fellow frenchman in Tasmania to profit from them and no one else.

Well im an Aussie and i try to support  Australian companies and if anyone, tries telling me where or when i can buy anything then Resistance Becomes Duty my only mistake was buying french to begin with but, i went on reputation and availability.Well ive learnt my lesson, and since then i found out about IKON

IKON shocks are made in Sydney,Australia and are a fantastic company so, i know where i will buy my next pair of shocks from.

My Fournales shocks have just packed it in after a 25 years and need to be serviced. Is there anyone in Oz that can service them other than the Frenchman in Tasy? Don't feel like paying $700 for a sevice! Even if it does come with a 2 year warrenty. Any help would be appreciated.

Bertrand died recently. Business being run by his daughter although how well, no one knows. They continue to trade so keep trying. Based on the poor experiences of members in trying to get repairs I would suggest you try local machine shops or other shocker manufacturers. Now you are a forum member, use the search function. Many threads on those shockers and recent issues

Friend have only you snapped the valve?
Is a just a valve, air type, which also holds shock fluid .
I do like my Fornales, as they did what I needed, and were ok. But, snapped the lower screw section , well fractured the shite metal on locator bolt hole on one side, due to , ahh forget it.
     So to the chase.
There was an excellent forum member who assisted with info to rebuild them.
After paying $600 to have two Steel lowers made, yeah ridiculous, but the way things went.
Anyway look on the upper seals for the seal part number, look up FST catalogue for matching seals if needed.
Hope your getting this too Ratbob.
The fluid is hydraulic, ahh can look up after for you.
And thankyou to gent who helped me. Now just gotta work out how too totally remove seals and replace. But am ok at present running 260 psi no leaks...
Ohhh Adddwatever who are you? Dont wanna fuckya but courtesy require introduction  .

Try SOS Suspension @ Penrith (NSW) - Sean 0412 245 176 as he may be able to assist with Fournales shocks.
Evidently Bertrand sold him a lot of repair stuff (including parts) a few years ago and depending if he has the part he may be able to assist.

As he is not a Fournales distributor, Fournales won't sell him parts (if he does not have it in stock) so you may end up needing to go to Bertrand's Daughter (as suggested by Steelo).
