The fact of life is any government will change the laws to suit their own judgement, the trouble is unless you have representation they do it without consultation
That does not mean that even with a fighting body they listen, they dont, but it helps to have someone speaking on your behalf...
As a few on here know I joined the MRA last year Motorcycle Riders Association http://www.mrawa.asn.au/
They are a body of riders who challenge the government think tank, they promote safety and fight the fight on your behalf, the one thing that got me though was their draconean ways, but that is changing, there are many new members, and new committee members, myself included, who are trying damn hard to bring the MRA into the real world and try and make the cause appealing to others... why not join and add you opinion to the way things are done........

Better still join, turn up on rides, and help the fight against incorrect legislation and the lack of safety on the roads
when will they get it through there thik heads. Loud pipes save lives. Louder the prouder and the safer. we have to compete with P platers and there doof doof music after all
Where we can help a little is to be mindfull of where we make the loudest noise. When I leave my place I tend to quitely pull away and leave the noisier part to when I'm mixing it with general traffic or on the open road. Even with standard pipes if you twist the throt hard it will go beyond the allowable limit.
As has been stated before the noise police will become more and more agressive as will the general public living in quite suburbia.

Its 94 DB for m.bikes in NSW. but for cars it is 96 Db (no discrimination) I'm gonna make some extra long baffles (fishtail ends would probably do it). Anyone made any baffles or exhausts to address the noise issue? I'm gonna do it for touring anyway.
I got done in 2000 where the toll gates were on the old road between Berowa and Gosford. Bastards defected me for the pipes and for not having an " unleaded only " sticker on the tank. The brave bastards from the EPA were working with the NSW highway patrol, the cops pull you in, the EPA test and defect you and the following week you get an EPA fine for $400.00 in the mail. Sending the fine in the mail is like getting one from a speed camera, they should be made to give it to you on the spot so you can give them $400.00 worth of grief. At the time the bike had a set of screamin eagle slash cuts fitted to it and tested at 117 decibles, didn't seem that loud to me.
Hey, don't bitch and moan now. As I recall there was an election held not so long ago. People of Australia got rid of little Johnny and now we have labour in every state and territory as well as Federal. Things will get real good now!!!!!!!!
