Aussie in Dubai

    Hi All,

I have been in Dubai for just over one year (working at a telco) and I am on my second Harley here.

My ride in Sydney was a Sportster which was great for commuting, which is what it was bought for.

When I got here I didn't think I would want a bike due to the heat, but after I met a couple of guys who ride with the local HOG chapter, I changed my mind and started looking. I found a 2005 Wide Glide (EFI) with less than 2000km, I low balled his asking price and got it for equiv of $10,900AUD. After a while I decided it wasn't the ideal bike for me and started looking for a tourer.

I came across an opportunity to buy a brand new (still in the dealership, not delivered) 07 Street Glide. The owner had won the Street Glide in a lottery (these lotteries are done through the main duty free shop at the airport where they also do BMW's, Jag's, Lambo's etc - the odds on winning are really good, not like an Aussie lottery)   Sold the Wide Glide and secured the Street Glide at a good price, the net result was that the brand new Street Glide cost me less than $20K AUD.

Of course, ebay is getting a thrashing as I order more and more parts from the USA. I have replaced the screen with something that helps, and have also had HD fit the IDS. Also have sundowner seat, backrest, slip ons, powercommander, arlen ness big sucker, etc coming - jeez I hope the missus doesn't read this

I am looking for advice on what to do with the active intake and exhaust valves on our models as the USA HDForum.com has little info as they don't get this 'restrictive'  feature. So any guidance would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Michael

Thanks stix68, I will check these little beauties out. I am back in Oz at xmas so I will probably get them then.

I won't be getting SERT as I have a PCIII on the way, thanks for that tip though.
