    G'day Taswegians

The Mrs (Julie) has decided we are riding to Tassie  in January 2014 so as it is THE busiest time of the year there.... they tell me that accommodation is hard to find ... any suggestions on B&B or couch surfing with friendly natives would be appreciated as we'd prefer to avoid hotels/motels and meet/stay with real people.

We intend to leave Perth on Dec 26th (Boxing Day) take  2-3 days to get to Port Melbourne (Ferry) via Adelaide and Great Ocean road  (yeah I know it'll be hot in January on the Nullabor ... but its the only time she can get off work.. and she hates the cold so it's the only time I can convince her to go to Tassie .... )

We both rode across from Dallas to LA then up the coast to San Francisco and across to Yosemite National park on a couple of Vrods (See Pics below) in August last year - best thing about the trip was we managed to meet and stay with other riders ( through US version of forums like this)  and ended up making some good friends, staying with some great people and gettiing taken on some amazing roads we never would have found otherwise...

Back in Oz Julie rides a Triumph Speedmaster (but dont hold that against her), we both like a laugh, a drink or three and company of fellow riders (of any sort of bike) so would be good to catch up with any Tassie forum members via email/phone etc for  local knowledge of the best roads, destinations etc and hopefully meet up when we are over there for a cruise around your favourite local roads.

Here's some video of a ride I did with one the guys we stayed with in California - reminded me of Tassie a bit - (he's on the BMW)

and here's a bit of a video I did at the end of the US trip where I got to take the piss out of a Local guy in the carpark of a Harley Dealer in Ventura Ca.while Julie was in shopping for Tshirts.

PS Happy to reciprocate the favour if anyones over this way and needs advice on WA roads or a place to stay.

    Cheers

    Coxy & Julie

If you ever get the chance - this is a brilliant road off the main Pacifc Coast Highway - have a look on Google maps .. it's magic and looking forward to more of the same in Tassie

Didn't see your post until tonite never read tassie events, we all seem to know whats going on, your going to be riding like a couple of cut cats to get to melbourne in two to three days, 3500ks doesn't leave much sack time, any way that aside loved the car park routine good laugh.

Well I know two forum members down here Stew51 and myself and I think we'd both be happy to show you about in our neck of the woods when you and the mrs get down this way and no doubt we could provide a bit of accom while your here, we're both well grounded married folk matter of fact we're brothers inlaw, we both live in the southern part of tas, so drop us a line.

    Cheers folks. Bahl.
