Have a little issue with my parteners 500.. after a ride she parks up the bike then 1/2hr later goes to start the bike and it self revs real high to the point of making people turn and look... this high ide speed last for about 5secs then returns back to normal idle.

Did a test again the other day went for a ride then parked up the bike for 2hrs and started it with no problem.

Got me thinking maybe the computer is trying to do a cold start on a already hot motor thus making it idle high..

    anyone else have this issue

NYTROD, you may want to re post this in the Workshop - General area.

That is where you're sure to get more views and opinions.

    Cheers.

Well guys n dolls....some feedback on the 500 Street.  I've been riding bikes for 40 years (yeah I'm an old fart) and have pretty much owned EVERYTHING!  Started on a 750 Bonny (Triumph Bonneville to you new pups) had a Norton Commando, all the jap bike (Honda 750 K four / Tripple Z Kawwa / 1100 RC) and about twenty others before the switch 20 years ago to Harley.  So, after some to Harley's I currenty own 3.  Just recenty bought the wife a Street.  Wow, great little bike.  Put on Vance n H slip on (great throaty sound) and the Cafe Solo seat.  She runs real well and even when I get of my Road KIng enjoy the little run around.  I use it sometimes in the traffic .....excellent for that.  My wife can (and does) ride my Forty Eight, but feels much more at home on the Street.  So far, so good, we love it.  cheers P

Put a set of YSS shocks on my wife's Street 500 and she says far better than the stock shocks.

Yes, she did want purple springs.

Do some web searches, I'm sure it can be done.  I doubt whether Sportster wheels will fit.  I suspect the different hub and fork setup would make those incompatible.
