Looks like HD are trying to get the smaller bike market, lets hope their pricing on these bikes is a bit more realistic than the other Harleys which they produce

Not just a sound. A signature.

No one on your block will mistake the note coming from the upswept exhaust on the new Harley-Davidson Street™ motorcycle. This is the pure, deep-thumping Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine rumble; the kind that hits your ears and reaches all the way down to the pit of your stomach. Tuned to perfection in our state-of-the-art sound-testing facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Instantly recognized on any corner in the world.

I wonder if it is going to be as poorly engineered and constructed as the current bikes...

I like them .. especielly the top one , I for one am actually starting to re access what i want , out of a bike and am starting to shy away from the bigger heavier bikes , find I ride the v strom more and more these days , simply because i love the light easy riding , Could see one of these in the garage to play around with on a sunday .

Yeah the whole thing does make plenty of sense , given congestion and cost of living , they even look half ok , although I'm happy with what I have got , I have always thought that it was only a matter of when the MoCo would venture into targeting this huge market of smaller capacity and entry level rides , the Asian countries booming middle class's ' if allowed are gonna go nuts over these !
    Cheers

I had a look at the website, and although I am not interested in them for myself, I am happy with what I have now, but I do like the look of them, I can only hope they don't look too small when someone of any size gets on one, the poor old sporty is a top fun bike to ride, but it looks small underneath me, and I am not that big a person.

The bikes above wouldn't pass ADRs. I'm sick of bike companies (or builders) using non-legal setups to showcase their range.

Bikes wont get to Aus without passing ADR's. No need to worry.
me thinks ol mate was grizzlin for the sake of it.
Even bikes in photos would be country certified before customizers get their grubbies onto them. No different to customizing a 2014 HD right now.

I like these bikes and how they have showcased what can be done with them. Who gives a fuck about ADR's. How many of us have completely standard bikes? Change the pipes and there goes you passing ADR's. So really your argument isnt valid. I purchased my Iron as a starting point, not for how it looked stock. If these bikes have decent engine upgrade kits i'll be putting my bike on notice!!!!

The white RDX concept (middle pic) doesn't look like it'd need much to pass compliance - indicators, mirrors, tail-piece/fender etc.

For me it has the most cred as a production version.

The mods aren't all the different to what we do to our sporties anyway. Look at some pictures of my bike for instance... Or Harley converts... And many others... No fairy tails there, only lack of imagination and fear of being harassed .

Just to throw another angle here, I just saw on this link talk of HD making bikes OS (i.e. not USA) the article even lists the mighty Iron (I have one) as being made in Asia.  FWIW, my bike is stamped on the frame as being made in the USA....

I can't work out all the marketing bullshit, at the end of the day my bike has been reliable, I enjoy riding it, I don't get caught up in all the hype. In fact I'vee just test ridden a Victory and a Ducati.  The Victory was nice, but it didn't get me excited, the Ducati on the other hand, gave me a tingling feeling (not just from the rattles, coughs etc) but it relates to a slogan I reently saw.

    I'll end with this:

4 wheels moves the body, 2 wheels moves the soul.  The HD Iron and the Ducati 1100evo I test rode did that, for others it will be differnet bikes that fill their needs.  The custom scene will roll on and it's good for all.

    Cheers and beers!!!
