Has anyone used the Vances & Hines fuelpac before, what are the Pro's & con's compared to the harley race tuner, as I'm looking for feedback before I decide to purchace. Thanks

Put one of these on my 2013 FXDF after changing my pipes and air cleaner. Simple to use, Vance and Hines were easy to deal with, in regards to questions I had. Engine is running a little rougher at idea, but I haven’t run the ‘auto-tune’ function yet. Over all very happy with the unit.

This unit would suit the ‘electronically challenged’ like myself and a bike with basic engine mod. Plug-n-play, push the button and off you go. There are felicities to adjust all sorts of parameters but you would want to have a fair idea about what you’re doing before messing with them. And if you knew that, you would probably go with a ‘laptop’ based unit anyway.

As far as I know these are a fairly basic fuel controller. Good for adding or taking away fuel at different levels. If this is all you need go for it. But a full tuner like a tts isn't much more and so much more capable if you get the addiction of modifying.

Fatbat is spot on. This unit is a good option if you are changeing pipes and air intake and stopping there. It allows you to download a custom map for your pipes and then autotune that same map to fine-tune it to your bike. As far as this goes it does it fine.
It also allows you to see real-time data via bluetooth on a mobile device such as iPhone and stores and allows you to see any fault codes.

So... If you are only playing wirth air and pipes, it is fine. Easy to use and has some cool features. If you want to do anything more... cams etc, then this won't do and you are better off spending a little more now to save you money later.

I have one on my 2014 Fatbob and I like it.

    Hi

I just thought I'd add to this I've got a fp3 on my 2014 fxdf I also have put s&s 106 big bore kit 89cc heads 58mm throttle body hp 103 cams I have a sert tuner but want rd to see how the fp3 performed with all these extras I've also talked to s&s and v&h both said should work.

I put it in all the info into the v&h fp3 selected auto tune everything seems to be running fine I'll keep you's posted

$600 to get it PROPERLY tuned just makes sense given the money already spent on all those mods. Spending more money on a fuel controller with canned maps for only the fuel supply doesn't make sense at all. The 'auto tune' simply adapts where to add more fuel and units of this type can sometimes run unecesseary rich as a result which is why some users report their bike running a bit rough down low.  Why even bother with those mods if thats what you're gonna do? The difference between a properly tuned modified bike and a modified bike without a proper tune often amounts to a BIG difference. Not just in peak performance but smooth power delivery and road manners at lower revs with the bigger cams.  I'm only trying to be constructive - It's your bike and money at the end of the day...

Just and update on the fp3 tuner with 106 ci upgrade

Have to report its the best tuner on the market I've got full control what happens to my bike the controller isn't a cheap controller it allows to to ad and subtract information e.g I'm able to able to change injector size, engine displacement, cam selection once i started bike it run a little rough but just want to hear it run I've since put it in auto tune done 3 runs on it save the tune runs like a dream no misfires or backfires and the best thing I like is you as a bike owner can check diagnostic coded and v&h support is so helpful.

So I highly recommend this weather your stuck in the Stone Age with sert and main stream power vision it gives you options not the bike shop and v&h are there always to help

fp3 is a usable tuner by the average bloke especially if you don't live near a dyno like our city folk I recommend it live it large you don't have to pay big dollars for tunning so go for it so much easier

Best investment we've made after the bikes themselves, we love them.  Bikes run cooler, exhaust is crisper, engines are smoother, and contrary to some of the comments on here, (granted comments are outdated) the FP3 will support many engine mods, and with the development efforts V&H consistently make, you can expect more every so often, when they update their apps.  I say go for it.  The HD SEST is having issues with the US EPA lots of owners are spewing right now.  That's my 5c!

Well I went and bought one from Revzilla after several years of thinking about it and now wish I had of done it sooner. Easy as to install, the bike starts easier, runs better and the decal pop which the mechanics said was something you had to live with when you have V&H pipes is gone.
I would recommend this product to any one who is still thinking about buying one.

Humbug, I reckon any mechanic that say's "decel pop is part of the pipes, live with it" doesn't know how to tune or are too lazy. I had decel pop and used my "stone age" SE tuner to slowly work on my map to eliminate it.

Mate check out Power Vision from Fuel Moto- not much more coin than the FP3 - they'll give you a custom tune from the mods you have now and the auto tune function is easy to use. Handy if you want to design a high-altitude tune if you go on long rides etc
