Front Brake buzzing?

    Hey All,

I'm very new to HD and have just got my self a 2013 Fat Bob. There is a strange buzzing sound coming from the front brake lever. It only happens at speed when the brake is applied, ie if you grab the brake lever when stopped, no buzzing. Can anyone shed some light on what this buzzing could be? ABS related? Is it normal? My first HD and first bike with ABS so I'm really in the dark here.

Done the google thing and have found a heap of responses like:
"When I first started riding my Dyna I didn't notice any buzzing noise from the front brake, but after awhile the buzzing noise appeared. I recently took the bike in for it's 5K service and I asked the techs about the buzzing noise. They agreed to check it. When I picked-up the bike, the service guys told me the noise was normal for Dyna's. They said something about the caliper system and the holes in the rotor producing the noise. It didn't sound like the noise was anything to worry about."

But my buzzing sound appears to be coming more from the lever than the calipers.

I have a 2014 fatbob and have the same light buzzing sound from the front brake when applied.
Always sounds like coming from the rotor and The brakes always felt fine. Never had a problem with the brakes so ignored it.
Had the same on my 2008 FXDC so I guess the mechanics "Its a Dyna thing" rings true.

A couple of things that can help the noise:
    1. Put a bevel (ie file it) on the leading edge of the pad.
    2. Try different pads as the compounds they are made from differ widely. I got rid of my buzz by switching to Lyndall Gold pads.

    Cheers

It comes from the disc. As you grab a handfull of front brake the pads bite hard on the disc changing the airflow through/around the holes in the disc as well as the frequency or sound you hear and in this case a buzzing sound. You should hear my street glide fully loaded hard on the brakes with Lyndall Race pads, sounds like a tree full of cycarders!!

Thanks all, I have googled this to death and it appears it has something to do with the change in air pressure in the holes in the disc's as they go past the pads. Mine appears to be coming from the lever but I can only suspect that it is travelling up the brake line.
