it is better if you measure between tank mounts , as the measurment from the centre of speedometer cable hole is not as important..
put the correct diameter dowel or pipe in the speedo hole as pictured& drop the dash casting over it, measure your tank mount points(on the tanks you are going to use)
front to rear that will tell you where to weld the rear mount, and dont worry to much about the height of the cast dash mount as the speedometer & ignition switch can be shimmed to the correct height to mount the dash cover corrctly....

Panhead51 good to see your still at it.
after you used the brace to hold flywheels, did you check turning the flywheels with a dial gauge on each side where crank rides in its case bearings to see if its true?
they use that tool but they also use a mallet & a tappered head ( like a chisel . to get them close to perfect true as they can. I like the old 74 cubic inch the heavy flywheels & shorter stroke they felt nicer to ride than the latter 80 cubic inch ( not faster just they pulled low rev's better ) keep at it, Panheads are the best looking HD motor!!

You're doing very well with English from what I see, dare I say - better than many people that were born here!
Good luck with your build - it is great to learn something everyday as you say, most importantly enjoy.

    Hey France,
keep it going man, will be so good to complete and to have done such a great project from the beginning to the ending.
These days in Australia you do not see that many Panheads around on the road.

well I've been lucky enough to have ridden a number of different Panheads & fortunate enough to have learnt how to kick start them ( a lot different to kick starting a Shovel )
but I've missed the boat owning one, as I knew I would not be the best owner, as like riding hard & far. the Pan's will do both just need to keep eye on everything as you travel.

Did not really like the brand until I seen the price
