So I have just got my new , stock standard 2015 Street Bob .. and like the look of the Roland Sands Design 2 into 1 stainless pipes and air cleaner. Has anyone got this set up on their 103 Dyna ? if so what did u do about tuner ? and whats it like , performance , sound .. even flick me a video link if u have something recorded.. I want this bike to stand apart from the rest but have never come across the set up , so interested to see what u think or have. Ted

I have the RSD system on my '14 Street Bob and it's a really good pipe from a performance aspect.
It's a well made system (Vance & Hines helped design it, so it's to be expected), and at idle/cruise, it is very tame. However, when you wrap the throttle on, it really barks.
I picked up my bike with the RSD exhaust already installed, with a SE Chisel intake and SE Super Tuner Pro with the dealer map update. It runs fine, but a dyno tune will obviously maximize performance and efficiency and also bring the engine temps down, I have just decided to wait until my bike is out of warranty to get it dyno tuned as I will get some cams at the same time.
    Hope this helps!

    Cheers, Ethan.

Thanks Fellas, am thinking Slant intake and V&H Tuner .. so tell me more about engine temps, will dyno tuning effect the temps and bring em down and will cooler temps be better or worse for the 103, I think my bike rides and responds much better at higher temps, but I am in Tassie too :) not QLD or WA , and will going to this system void my warranty ?

My understanding is that these engines run quite lean from the factory to reduce emissions, which burns hotter, making the engine run hotter.
Dyno tuning allows the tuner to adjust the air/fuel ratios to, first and foremost, net you better performance and efficiency (efficiency as in fuel economy normally takes a dive, but the engine runs better overall), but also allows them to adjust them accordingly while keeping an eye on engine temps. to prevent over heating.

    Cheers, Ethan.

Thanks fellas .. great input , not convinced that these changes are gonna suit me . Might go a different way due to cost now, but thanks for the discussion. Ted

Ted, don't get me wrong, you can certainly put these pipes on without the need for tuning.
You only need to get a tune if you get a higher flowing air filter as well.
The Dealer can flash tune it with a Screamin' Eagle Super Tuner, but to get the most out of your set up, a proper tune is the way to go.

    Cheers, Ethan

Ended up going with VnH Big shot slants, Fuel Pak 3 Tuner and Naked Hight flow Breather.. runs fuckin awesome .. so nice that the missus wants off :) so win win .. Think in auto tune mode it picks up the temp and fuel efficiencies and populates that to the brain. Would a Dyno tune assist ? or am I getting the best it can give me as is ?
