    Hi Guys,

Picked up the Torco oil i have been chasing for a while. Its the Torco V Series SAE 60W for big inch motors. Guys in the USA are using this oil for 113 and above motors and are commenting that the motors run better on this oil, especially with the higher compression normally used on the bigger motrs. Evidence so far is that it keeps the engine temps under control more.

Payed $14.95 per litre bottle and ordered it through Mandurah Yamaha 08 95347944. The oil comes via Serco as they are the distributor[Qld] and they are notriouslly slow with any delivery. Think they still wholesale the Power Commanders??.  The price will fluctuate as its from the USA. I ordered mine 6 weeks ago and as we all know, the aussie $ has taken a bath against the US $ since then.

Will try and remember to post up my thoughts after its been in the bike for a while.

    Cheers

Crasher- No is the answer basicially. Was developed for tighter spec/tolerances motors and remember its 60W oil as well.

Stix is using the Redline in his motor from when it was a 96 motor with cams to it now being a 107 and i reckon he is on the right track with that oil.

No, No Karl. Redline heavy shockproof in the tranny, Redline MTF in the primary and Mobil V-twin 20-50 in the donk.

I'm running Redline Shock heavy in the tranny and Redline Hi Temp ATF in the primary..... still undecided on the donk so have standard HD 20/50

everything I've read/heard about Redline has been good.. including a reduction in wear on tranny

Penrite do HD oil which is a 50-70 weight. That works good in hot running early Harleys.
It's a little easier to get.
Penrite Enduro from Auto One is 25w 70; it about $29 per 4Litres.

    For V8, V12 cars & large displacement m.bikes I'd go Penrite SIN 25.

Hi bacaklunk, just be aware that your sporty shares gearbox and primary oil.

You need a gear oil designed to work in both areas.

I use a heavy gear oil used in limited slip differentials as it wont affect the clutch, or just buy the harley oil for your bike.

It would seem to me that the engine oil is the main concern in a late model bike rather than tranny and primary and yet it's the last on your list ????  Just use Amsoil or Mobil 1 V-Twin you can't go wrong. I use Red Line in the tranny now but I've gotta say that the Amsoil 20w50 seemed to make gear changes smoother and less noisy, Go Figure ??
