Nope. Always had terrible luck with them further down the track.

Sort of regret it now. Gonna see what's the go on Monday. Get it pressure tested. See where the leak is and decide what needs to be done.

I'm like you I'd prefer to avoid the tank sealer and just make sure the tank is made well and mounted correctly. Where about exactly is the tank leaking from? Do the mounts on the tank line up perfectly with your mounts on the frame, so there's no extra stress in any direction to get a hole to line up?

very nice. Well done. Dont know if it will happen but been thinkin the exact same thing. A 70's built hardtail sportie raked springer on ebay got me thinkin. Have to get rid of a boat first but. Mrs says too much shit. How can a dude ever have too much stuff ?

so put the tank in a bucket, hit it with the compressed air. It's the seam weld along the side of the tank. Bad manufacturing. My painter has done a lot of these lowbrow customs frisco tanks and it's the first failure he's seen.

Paint was rubbed back, welded air tight again and needs to be patched up.

I think the 20 odd layers of paint and clear kept it together for so long. Should be good now I hope :)

Lesson for everyone, pressure test your tanks BEFORE painting!

Tanks all fixed and re-welded, paint touched up and POR-15 kitted inside just incase.

Re-engineered the mounting rubbers, very happy with how that came up.

Snapped the fuel filter while bending fuel lines so will have to sort that out tomorrow and run new lines.

CV carb is a 1/4 inch fitting (the plastic barb) and tapers to like 3/8ths so getting my 1/4 inch line on is a pain.

Bike will be at throttle roll either way.

Some pics from throttle roll, bike cleaned up pretty well. Time to put some serious miles on it. I think I have every teething issue sorted now.

Next is to drop the gearbox oil and replace the clutch cable o-ring into the box. Finding any info on this korean made shit is hard but found a exploded diagram for the drain and amount of gear oil required. Funnily enough they use this box on those Texas Chopper bikes in the states, so they must be able to hold some grunt. I think they use revtec 124 cubers.
