As we are now well and truly into winter, the old chestnut of freezing finger tips and thumbs at hwy speeds, reares it's ugly head.

Just wondering what the consensus is on 12v heated gloves, vests, jackets.

I know there is a plethora of product out there, what works? What works well? What works exceptionally well??

I installed a windscreen on the Sporty and it works a treat on the coldest days so far this year. Last year I used to slip a small sheet of high density foam inside my jacket which kept me warm as well.

Got the rechargeable Venture gloves fromZarkie.
    Highest setting , bloody warm-hot
Middle setting gives 4 hours use.
They are warm unpowered as well.
Purchased for our annual frosty finger fang winter ride when the ice forms on the bikes overnight.

    Thanks for the comments guys.

The cement got wet & set (I should've read the destructions correctly and taken "Prior" to riding in the rain) before I could take the medicine.

QLD, nice place to visit but..............

I have read a bit about the Venture gear but have never met anyone who has actually used it.

Am looking at the EXO2 gear atm. Flexible heating membrane (New age shit)....

I've thought about getting some heated gear for a while. You'd think a cold climate like Canberra would have a shop that sold this stuff but not so. And nothing in Sydney that I'm aware of. I don't like the idea of buying stuff like this online without trying things on for size first. That zarkie website has a po box in Melbourne but no listed shop or physical address to have a look at stuff. There's another stockist in Gippsland for the warm n safe brand but I'm tipping they probably don't stock inventory

Plenty of good thermal gear out there now days. Layer up a bit with the right gear and you should be all good. And no fucking wires. Try Kathmandu for some good thermal gear. Sales on at the moment so not as expensive as it usually is.

For me it's called arthritis in my hands & three spots in my spine.  I want to be able to enjoy riding for as long as I can. Been riding for 30 years. Winters ain't colder, I'm just older, stiffer & smarter.

I also use the heater in my car and sitting in my house with the heater on right now........I know, I know.... I'm soft.blush

I only got soft when I bought a car in 2014... wet weather jacket and pants is the best and cheapest way to keep warm, keeps out the wind

I live near Canberra and sometimes leave work about 545am when it's below zero. Some of our perspectives are a little different.
