    Bombala to Cann river.
    Tumut to Cooma or
    Cabrumurra to kancoban.
But my favourite roads are anywhere in north eastern Vic, the Alpine and kosiosco natonal parks have
the best riding in the country in my eyes including the coast of Vic and Hotham region.

Great ocean rd has to manny tourists these days which fucks it.

Home - Gympie - Kilkivan - Goomeri - Murgon - Wondai - Kingaroy - Nanango - Yarraman - Wutul - Crows Nest - Hampton - Esk - Split Yard Creek - Mt Glorius - Samford - Dayboro, over Mt Mee to D'Aguilar - Caboolture then on to home. That's an all day run for me, 644klm and about 9 hours ride time because of the slow sections and heavily policed areas, plus stops for fuel and food, on some really great roads. The run from Gympie out to Murgon is fantastic, fast sweeping corners, up and down hill type road without much in the way of blue and red flashing interference.

One of my favourites is a round trip day ride from Canberra to Bega via Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma. that leg is about 3.5 hours and around 270 km.

The return trip is from Bega to Canberra via Cooma, that leg is about 3 hours and 250 km.

That ride gives a good mix of everything, a mountain descent down the Clyde mountain and a mountain ascent up the Brown mountain. you also get a mix of coastal riding and some high country plains. Just beware that around Nimmitabel it can get bloody cold even in summer.

I usually find coppers lurking at Batemans Bay, Narooma, Bega, Cooma and Bredbo.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

PS: It's just as much fun to go the other way around as well.

In SA. The run up to Blinman in the Flinders Ranges from the mid north. Particularly the last stretch from Wilpena to Blinman. Barring wild life the last stretch is probably one of the best roads in SA.

Being an old cunt, I traveled and lived in every state (Australia) for at least a year. My favorite was and still is Tasmania, hands down, and H H you correct, the road engineer for the East Coast roads in Tasmania was a motorcyclist..
This is from a guy that used to ride through the Adelaide hills roads on Christmas day, as I knew there was  fuckall traffic on roads.

X2 what Limpn said, plus the NSW snowies, from Adaminaby to Talbingo is just spectacular, could do that back to back - sweeeet. Anywhere there really.
Went up the Kings Hwy from Nelligen recently with the bride, thru Braidwood into Canberra then out to Tarago over night - bloody awesome, and Mark, the publican at the Loaded Dog is an absolute champ and highly recommended, home via Bungonia, Exeter, Penrose, Bundanoon and lunch at Burrawang and back down the Pass.
Honestly, Macquarie Pass is my favourite ride, close to home and good pies at Robertson Pie shop (getting fat though lol). Hope to do the map of Tassie :) next year though with some mates and wives - so may change favourite ;)

    cheers
