South west Tassie, weekend before last.
This road is a bit of a "long cut" if you are going from Queenstown northwards or heading the other way from Burnie or Cradle Mountain towards QTown.
There is a turn off at Zeehan which ends up joining the highway just north of Tullah.
A roughly 60klm side loop that goes (literally)over the Reece dam on the Pieman river. Well worth stopping to look at the power station below from the top of the dam.
The landscape in the photo may look bleak, but you do drop down into lots of valleys with big old growth timbers like huon pine, myrtle and other cold rainforest shit.
Big plus is that there is hardly any other traffic, plus you get glimpses of the wild ocean off the west coast of Tassie.

I don't know, there is no-one there to hear it and tell me.
    A misanthropists paradise.
Definitely quieter than the S&S slip ons that were there before but still a bit on the noisy side, always have the earplugs.

Ha ha!  If an Harley with a sweet exhaust system blasts through the forest & no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
How it sounds to the rider is the real thing.

They both live in the shed Steelo. Mrs Canal owns the one on the left.

No mate. I'm referring to the cockheads who seem to delight in having absolutely no silencing and then feel obliged to feed a handful of throttle when riding through a main street or shopping centre where most people are just annoyed by their excessive noise.

And with that, Spook cured the Steelo virus and secured the integrity of his beer stash.

Yeah right! Steelo would have the quietest set of Harley pipes in Australia. The only reason Steelo is not visiting is that he can't find me. I'm in Davutch country for a cuppla weeks.
