Righto, been a few kays now so time for an update....
The 117 kit in the Slim S is a dead set awesome upgrade. The motor is a completely different beast to what the 110 is. The HD figures suggest a 40% increase in torque and power, and the seat dyno would suggest that's about right. Damn this thing is quick, 3rd gear wheel spin no problems, a lovely loping sound at 100 kph, good passing power. Drop down to 3rd at 100, twist it open and good god it goes well. More power than the GSX1400 I had - very nice power punch.

    Now, the bad side.

The 117 kit seemed to bump my compression up a little, but not too much. Prior to the upgrade the starter did struggle a little when the engine was hot, but just the past weekend I had my first fail to start. Apparently it's a thing for some of the 110's, and until now it wasn't a thing on my 110.
Thankfully, it's an easy fix - take it to the dealer for an ecu flash, and they change the settings on the ACR's to come on at ignition on rather than when the starter kicks in. Problem solved.

Otherwise, I have no complaints about the 117 upgrade on the Slim S. I love it, really brings a grin to the face when you peg it.

As an aside, we also put a 117 kit into the wife's Low Rider S. We're still in break in, but it's transformed her motor into something completely amazing. Oddly however, it's a different beast altogether to the Slim S 117. Hers is much more smooth in the delivery. Both have a very linear power delivery and would likely have very similar graphs (yet to get the paperwork on both), but it feels (and sounds) different. For what it's worth, I'd believe hers will beat mine in a straight run to top.

TL;DR - the 117 in the Slims is absolutely worth the coin IMO. Yet to make a final decision on the viability of the Low S, but I'd suggest at this early stage that it is a better upgrade in that rubber mounted motor than the Balanced motor.

I have done 17,000ks with the 117 kit in my CVO Limited and still grinning when overtaking.
