Looks good LB. Why do dyno runs have 2 files specified?

Thanks James ... Nice but expensive , Lol ... Lot easier to clean compared to the traditional spoke wheels on my Twin Cam .

Took the new beast out last weekend , missus , some luggage and some good old bumpy Qld back country roads North of Dalby ... Power when run in is going to be freaking amazing by the feels of things .

Suspension now thats another story ... first impressions , not happy Jan ... now the rear wheel has been changed from the stock 16" to the nice new shiny 18" Turbine ... it has of course a lower profile tyre presumably to make sure the speedo is kept within range ... speed check with a couple of mates seem to confirm the speedo is all good .

Anyhow for a $55,000.00 Tourer i expected a hell of a lot better ride even over some of our shitty roads up this way ... i was thinking surley the lower profile tyre carnt make it that much worse ... the poor Missus was practiclly in tears on the longer journey home ...  i thought it carnt be the set up as not once , not twrice but 3 times i had disscussed with the guys at Dealership to make sure they adjusted the suspension the week before when i picked the new beast up .

So i am not even thinking it could be non adjustment ... the 3rd time the adjustment was mentioned with the dealership was in fact when they rang me to confirm how far i wanted it adjusted too ... so of course they sorted it , Right ... No .

When we got home and after seeing how upset the Missus was i thought i better investigate , and low and behold the Dicks hadn`t changed the setting from it`s lowest setting which was for a 65 Kg Feather Weight ... me 150 Kg`s and the Missus 80 and most likely at least 10 or 15 Kg`s of Luggage ... so as it turned out every bump we hit and there were shitloads of them we were riding on the bump stops .

While on the subject of the rear shockies ... whats the go with the left rear being of decent size but the right rear looks like it would be more at home on a small dirt bike .

Whats the moral of the story ... don`t trust Dealerships to do the right thing as soon as they get your money ... sound a bit harsh , Fucking oath ... have settled down somewhat during the week and am heading down on Saturday to see how they react ... have adjusted the shocky up and as we live out West of Brisbane now we have a nice little ride to see how much better these things are with a somewhat more approrite adjustment before we get to Dealer to hear their response .

Has left a little bit of a sour taste thats for sure ... still in Love with the new girl no worries there and as mentioned above the power feels like it will be great but considering my lowered Twin Cam felt more comfortable to ride i was let say a tad dissapointed ... 2 more sleeps till i see if get an decent apolagy and if not i will take my spending money across the river and give it to another Dealer .

Hey Tim, sweet looking ride mate.
On the shocks, the RH is just a slave shocky, all the adjustment is from the LH shock - pre load anyway. Can understand you being pissed off, the dealership really should have run you through how to adjust the rear, and at the least had it set up somewhere close to right for you and the missus, it's very easy and only takes a few minutes. I read thru my owners manual looking for the best starting point for solo and two up but found it pretty useless to be honest and just tried trial and error. They are still pretty ordinary from what guys that have decent suspension say, but are light years ahead of my old 94 Fatboy.
    Enjoy the new toy

I've a question regarding HD Premium Shocks. I have a 2015 Limited can anyone tell me if the M8 rear shocks will fit?
Apparently the 2017 shocks have more adjustment than previous versions. Will they fit?
According to part no's they won't but i don't see why not, they look identical but with more adjustment.
Part No. for older version is 54000008 and Part No. for later shocks as separate units is 54000093 54000094.
Does anyone know if they'll fit as i would rather buy later version if they have more adjustment
    Thanks

Hell China, I hope you don't work at a Lifeline call centre for a job.
Old mate learnt a lesson about dealerships. His Missus wasn't happy. Live & learn!

Beaut looking RK, Tim. (but I am partial to red). Had my 17 SG for 12 months now, and tried many variations of pre- load, fully loaded with the missus on board, and ,also, now with a top box. None of the settings seem to be ideal fully laden, but the one thing I did to make the missus happy, was to fork out for a HD hammock seat. Much plusher for both rider and pillion on long trips compared to the stock seat, and it helps absorb some of those kidney jarring potholes that seem to jump out on country roads. A compromise ,I know, and I'm of the same opinion as you regarding Harley not getting touring suspension right on their top of the range tourers. China will, no doubt sing you the praises regarding his Ohlins set up, which is state of the art for these bikes. Unfortunately, more money to get it perfect on an already pricey unit. But ,always remember the old saying: "Happy wife, happy life"

Thanks guys ... Doc , not so much an issue of not knowing how to adjust shocks as I did that within a few minutes of getting home , the issue was dealership said it was done so I had no reason to doubt them which made me think it must of been something else .
Jfe ... Don't pay to much attention to Old China , he has had the shits with me ever since I called him a Wanker a few years back when I had the audacity to ask him to explain how he took such good pictures and he replied by saying learn yourself ... Nice and helpful hey ... He will of course deny any memory of such event I presume .

China ... Never said I couldn't adjust shocks , as mentioned above I sorted them myself within a few minutes ... When you have been told 3 times that they were done then they are not the first thing you think of ... You say if I paid them to do the job and they didn't then that's another story , well how's 55,000  And being told it's all done ... Grow up and act your age not your IQ size you argumentative Old prick .

Winger ... Am definitely looking into other seating options and also better shocks setup as I am on the larger side of life ... Would have liked to ask Old China about his Ohlins set up but from the looks of things he wants to carry on like a Smart Arse ... Oh well such is life .

Lol ... Ah Old China you keep pretending you are right , what ever helps you sleep you go right ahead .
New to the forum hey , well I suppose if 3 or 4 years is New then guilty  ... We can't all be Legends like you .

Funny how you think people don't have a right to defend themselves against unwarranted criticism ... In my opinion of course , especially since this is the first time I have had a crack back at you since way back then when .quite a few replys over the years to post of mine you have had nothing but Negative comments and you say I am the one dredging up old stuff ... Oh that's right you thought I was New to the forum ... Yeah right .

One of your favorite lines is ..." if you had read what I had said " ... Well if you had read what I had said then you would have seen that I said the moral of my rant as you call it is to not take dealerships at their word and check things yourself , which is what I will be doing from now on .

I'm more than happy to let things be but something tells me you will have your normal negative comment , so come on Old China , get it off your chest , you will feel so much better ... Lol .

Not sure if you are asking if we are Cool or you are saying we are Cool ... Either way is fine by me ... I have enough other stuff in life to cause me grief , only ever wanted to hopefully get advice and ideas when visiting this site .

Re suspension, how good or fast a rider do you need to be to notice or appreciate and use the difference between a cheap or oem suspension set-up and an expensive top of the line ohlins set-up?

Wingers, you forgot... "happy wife, happy life. Don't get chubby, happy hubby"
Don't let the China Bull upset ya. He's a grumpy, mischievous, shit stirring arsehole that makes fun of others so he feels better about himself.  That's why we love him.

Anyway, back to the bikes. I just hope you blokes are looking after these new machines so that in 5-10 years I can buy someone's hand me down.

Yeah definitely took the long distance rides into account ... Will most likely throw the Original plush seat back on for those longer rides .
Still haven't made my mind up about the Bars yet ... So many years of riding with Low wide bars is going to take a while for the brain cells to get used to ... Not sure why but they just seem a little high .

Going in for the first Service next week and going to get the guys to pull the bars back a bit to see how that suits .

Well have had the first Dyno done ... Pretty happy , 128.98 Hp and 121 Torque ... Few people thought the shorter pipes may Rob a few Hp but seems Freedom might have done their homework .
Also got the new wrap round front guard on ... Really opens up the whole wheel as opposed to the standard ... IMO

Thanks guys , yeah very Happy ... I like to take things with a pessimistic outlook sometimes so I don't get my hopes up to much , so when I was told it might get 120 Hp I thought I would be happy with 115 plus ... So when it came back 128 and more importantly 121 plus Torque I was like Yeah Baby .
Have owned some pretty quick Jap bikes through the years and have owned a Shovel , still own a Evo Springer as well as an 08 Twin Cam which is a 110 Hp S & S beast BUT this M8 is something else ... Obviously not cheap but this Stage 4 Motor and Freedom pipe combination sure feels good to me .

Only have 3 points left so have to be careful when I want to play , Lol .
