Mine all good, only done 2,000kms, we have another one in our Club that has 12,000Kms, and no probs
Reckon you'll be cruising beautifully with V & H and deep throat China Bull, OR you'll be breathing fire..
what happened to the Rinehart?
Rinehart still not in production and I wasn't prepared to wait.
Anyhoo, I picked her up yesterday morning. Sounds much better now. Got no intelligible answer as to where all the gearbox oil went or what caused the vibration. They basically said, put some miles on it and see how it goes.
Now I need to see Dyno Harley for a decent tune and see what she is making.
He seen the light.
Not terribly helpful but that's what warranty is for I guess.
But why should we have to break/seize things first before they do some preventive repairs Hilly. There seems to many bikes with the same issue for it to be a one off. Guess HD plays the numbers game hoping most these bikes wont do decent klm before the warranty expires and your on your own.
Warranty is all very fine, but it's the inconvenience of your bike being off the road while they fix (hopefully) the damage. You would more than likely have to wait for the parts to come from the states.
Yes that sucks. In my case, I'm likely to be a long way from home when / if it does break down. 1st time I was in Yarrawonga and it took 8 hours to get a suitable tow. 2nd time it had the decency to wait until I was a kay from home returning from Port Fairy.
There are two dipsticks, one for gearbox oil and one for engine oil. Both on the same side of the motor.
Is that the plug that you need an Allen key for?
Gearbox oil you need the allen key for. When you pull that plug out there is a dipstick attached
Nice of the sales guy not to say anything when so many are having problems. I actually quizzed him about there only being the one (obvious) dipstick and he said that was all I needed to check on the new motors.
Being the devils advocate, usually there is no requirement to check the gearbox on the older twin cam motors so perhaps they had no reason to believe there may be an issue with the new motors. Many of us have changed the std oil in the gearbox for lets say a better product so we are aware of the routine checking of the dipstick just for peace of mind.
V&H over Rinehart...
A lot of people would find that debatable
Something wrong with your ears, have you not heard mine? music to the ears, performance difference is debatable.
Jeana Rinehart is prob stashing the cash away
