I'm on my second HD Tourer in 22 months and have had a great run re: value. Picked up the latest (and last) version of the M8 FLHX HDI model for $15K change over on my 2011 FLHRC. The FLHRC appreciated $3K in the 20 months I had it! Very happy with the M8 Rushmore, the transferring and sumping issues have known and proven fixes (I've done both for about $500). A M8 Tourer is the best HD made yet, I think we tend to bag the bikes a little too much. I rounded-up and passed a newish CBR1000 on a local mountain road yesterday, the M8 Tourers are a great bike.

Nah, was thinking how awesome it is that Honda’s don’t have known sumping issues.

Harley's have their areas where they're better than a Honda! Mechanical strength, straight line stability, electrics, chrome, parts availability (OEM and factory), body of expertise amongst riders, lighting technology, modification parts (OEM and factory). There's a damn sight more 70s HDs still running than Hondas. What's REALLY cool is that the body of expertise amongst HD riders actually solved the sumping AND transferring issues BEFORE the MoCo did!
Cruising the freeway at 65-70mph, no bike on earth beats a FLHX, IMO.

    Ha Ha you lunatic!

    Yeah, pay that.
Try cruising down an American freeway at 65-70mph on your Harley these days. You would get run right over by a granny doing 90-100mph in her big Dodge pick up.

    Hilarious you two.
Bit true though, recall my 74 Sporty going up in flames, it was only a year old.
Glad we were outside a pub with onlookers, a couple of beers put it right, and me.

Perhaps another reason there down is  this ,, I went in  the other day , asked two questions ,

1--- Whats my bike worth trade in ,, 2016 low rider ,  8000klm  ,   2 new tyres recently ,,  extras , bit of bling  bar grips ,  pegs ,  exhaust ,  sundowner seat ,,  passenger backrest and luggage rack ,  screen ,  8 months rego left ,    ANSWER ---- $12000 , , your extras are worth nothing , and   low riders don't sell ,  OUCH

2 ,, How much , for that heritage classic , add on passenger backrest  , or that sports glide , add on taller screen , 10 inch apes ,  .
ANSWER ,  Heritage no speciels on that so ticket price plus   the backrest

Sports Glide ,  28 grand plus    the parts , i don'nt have the parts prices , i'll get back to you  when i speak to  workshop   and parts  and work out what they cost ,to supply and fit ,  Now that was 5 days ago and guess what still waiting for the call , , Not only that they were 2019 models  and 2020  models are just around the corner , and that devalues the stock they have ,

Could be he thinks i'm a knobhead and messing about ,  but then again , if a customer who had bought  7 new bikes from that store in 9 years   walked in asking the questions , you would think   i've got a sale here , .

    End result , 12 grand , i'm keeping what i've got .

Dealers  really are a buisness and DO have to make money , after all  there not there for a public service , but   theres making money and theres out and out greed ,

I have seen run out specials on the sport glide for as low as  $25k  as for your 16 lowrider  $ 12k is an insult I think sold privately you`d get a few k extra. I do like the sport glide but shit!  those wheels suk, & maybe slightly higher bars ,Reckon I`ll wait a while , I always think  the right deal will come along in time ,that`s how I have bought all my bikes over the years .Maybe that salesman has not been there 9 years & don`t intend being there very long , seems the care factor is close to Zero with a lot of  salesman I deal with , but I guess they see a lot of Dreamers

12 grand is an insult ,  they have to make money , but they know and more importantly i know , its got reg and low klm ,    its  gonna go on there floor for probably $19,900  and , , 8 grand differenc is just too much and greedy .

Yet it always seems to be Harley ,  when i bought the  LR i had   another bike to trade , harley offered me $5000 trade in , against a new Low Rider ,, i declined , and just bought the lr anyway ,,  not long ago same dealer , different dept , gave me  $9800 trade on the same bike  against a bike 10 grand cheaper than the  LR , like i said it seems to be harley  dealers all the time who want to shaft ya ,,

Well has far has i am concerned i say fook em , theres plenty of private bikes out there  and enough Harleys around to keep me in a bike for the rest of my life , personaly i could'nt care less if they all went broke , , funny enough we would even have toi go overseas then for parts , and guess what , we would still get them cheaper .
