Has anyone ridden the road into to 80 mile beach recently ? Planning a trip up that way July 17 , last time stayed at Pardoo Roadhouse . Not great . Is the road suitable for big tourer ?Experienced bitumen rider , not a huge experience on dirt roads. Ridden on gravel roads when needed
    Any ideas or info appreciated

You wont find much tar sealed at all up that way, are you going via the Anna Plains ? Dirt 4wd road.

Doing the bitumen as close to the coast as possible . I rode up that way last year on a loop of Oz counter clockwise .All bitumen Roads .. Doing a smaller loop clockwise this time Vic/sa/wa/nt/sa / vic . I found the bitumen roads in the NorthWest Wa and the NT very good. It is the road from the Great Northen Highway to the Eighty Mile Beach CP that I am inquiring about . IT looks/reads as a gravel road but that could be nice graded gravel to one with heaps of ridges and gravel rises and pushes on the track .
    Cheers

It would be dirt all the way to the CP/village, unsure of it condition but would not advise as road bike route. Good luck with your trip.

Do it mate, have a crack, report back.

I know of 1 Harley that went across the Gun Barrel highway, Eighty mile beach will be a walk in the park compared.
