I hear what you are saying Retro about how far the prices have dropped for stock bikes from that era ... I to bought mine for 20,000 k back when the values were still good ... Then I made the major mistake of taking apart a immaculate looking bike and went a little crazy chasing Hp and multiple different variations of looks , handling and other assorted wishes .
I won't be letting mine go for anywhere near that low of a price considering the motor I have in her along with all the other goodies that would go with her ... For example just last night I priced my Ride Wright wheels , with out tyres the Aussie cost is close to $ 2,500 ... Of course I don't expect to make that money back , but that is just one of many many extras on this bike .

When I post everything that is included with this bike as well as what is currently on and in this bike I think most people will accept that this bike should attract much much more than the mid to low teens ... Haven't exactly decided what price I will put on yet but mid to low twenties is most likely where I will end up ... And if she dosent attract any bidders then I know I have a bike that is powerful , reliable and comfortable .

Yes I won't be able to buy a new Road King Special for some time but that's life ... I will just keep changing things every year or so to keep things interesting , Lol .

As a relatinve newbie I can say they are not rude to new members, posting into an existing thread with unrelated topics is considered poor manners. Please go to the introduction section on the home page say hello and introduce yourself then post your question there, you will find many people will read your post and give some great advice.

Thanks soapbox for giving the time to explain it to me and link me to the page.
I'm on iPhone and things aren't appearing so well on my safari. I'll go through it tomorrow and see if I can make sense of this.

Hi guys ... As the Original bloke who posted this thread I definitely appreciate the support from people trying to keep a thread from being hijacked .
No offense taken to the newbie ... I remember all those years back being one myself , Lol .

Small update ... Was talking to another dealer ship here in Brisbane ... Didn't have my bike with me at the time but he has seen me around plus I reminded him with some pics ... He made an interesting comment in conversation ... He said that as long as it was an Australian Import they wouldn't have a problem selling it .

Now I certainly have not kept it a secret on purpose as I really thought it was an non issue but my bike is what they used to call a Grey import ... Is there really still a stigma against those type of Harley imports ... Far as I can tell they were all built in the same place and at the time if the Stealers weren't so greedy a lot of the time then maybe I would have bought off them .

Anyhow sorry to get sidetracked there a little and as mentioned elsewhere in this thread I definitely have appreciated the feedback ... So keep the opinions coming .. Or not .. Either way try and have fun on some of the Coolest bikes on the Planet ... Cheers .
