Can anyone suggest some bike gloves that might suit some or all of these criteria:-
    Thin
    Leather
    No linings
No sewn in wear pad or such.
    Wrist straps for securing.

I can echo Pauly's preference in glove and recommend the Alpinestars MX gloves. Closest I've owned to feeling "gloveless" but still protective enough. Finishes at the wrist with a velcro fastener. I've owned them for 3 years and they're still in great nic.

Went to Bunnings last Sunday. They had "DeWalt" gloves that look and feel great. $21. There's an extra layer on the palm which I can easily remove.

Colour could be a controversial issue, but like my old rigging gloves, they are leather and they take that little bit of edge off many issues. Bulky finger gloves are a pain, specially when touchy feely is needed.

Daytona Bikeweek in 2011 I bought 2 pairs of unlined "Deerhide' , short but with zip up the back, just covers the end of the jacket sleeve.

One Black and one Beige. I specifically wanted unlined , Perth is "too hot" 80+% of the time for lined gloves I find

$12 USD a pair maybe should have bought more at the time.

Zips are plastic , one time a petrol moistened rag made contact wit one of the black pair and the zip she no boogie no more.

Both still work and are wearing well , wish they had a brand on them and I'd get more online...

I have a pair matching that criteria: "First". Basically just leather. No lining etc. Fine when it is stinking hot. Might save some skin if I go down but otherwise no protection beyond the single leather layer.
