As I will be working my cunt off before I  leave and when I get back
The bike will be up on the jack of about 3 mounts
Dose the rego office allow a bloke save a few dollars buy put the rego on hold
we have the dearest bike rego in the country here in NT

I've got a scooter with an engine issue sitting on the backburner. Motor reg contacted me to surrender the plates when the reg lapsed. It was an easy matter to phone in and give them an idea how long the build was going to take. I told em about a year and he said he would note it on the file. I think if you let it lapse over 3 months, you'd pay for a further period of reg plus probably an "admin" fee

It's a system where if the bike has been registered in the ACT before, you can let it lapse for up to 12 months and still be able to re-register without dramas. Had a mate who 'chose' not to ride during winter, so the bike went into hibernation.
Generally, the ACT can be a bit progressive on bike-related issues which I believe is partly related to a strong MRA ACT (but could be wrong on that point). Plenty of HOGs too.

Unfortunately none of this helps our mate Bloodog...

Not being a smart arse but with some of the "modifications" you have posted about here that you have done, I would keep it registered even if it costs you a bit more in the long run ??
