Your mate did you a great favour. I paid $1800 for mine and then couldn't afford the genuine pump, so bought bike pump for $60 that never got up to the sweet spot pumping, only pumped to 300 psi I think. They were good  shockers for softie. As you know you gotta "Bargain'.

Interesting Hilly. I actually put Racetec on the front, and found from standard to Racetec, was chalk and cheese, this was my first changes on a Harley Davidson, and thought "wat the fuck, for a $32 grand bike, and it doesn't even handle till ya spend another $600 on front and was $2000 on the rear"(from Geelong Harleymm), I'm in for a learning curve.
But I loved it, lucky my jeans are cool with holes in the knees, as I can't afford new Levis and run a Harley.

Nah Hilly, I succumbed to financial pressure and bought a Road Glide which is where we start down that financial road , once again.
I did play with the Fatboy and added, as we do, a lot of personal improvements at at lot of expense. The Gold valves were absolutely the best handling improvement from all of them, and I used to have an SFC  Laverda. The rear Fornicators were a bit of a pain to adjust on the road.
