    g,day everyone,
I'm Paul, I know very little about Harleys and will be asking a lot of (Probably stupid) questions, so my apologies up front from the noob.

I'm not new to bikes, i ride a very sweet Diavel which i consider a gateway drug to the more relaxed enjoyment of bikes, it's ALWAYS been Ducati sport bikes for me, well, at least for the last 28 years, love them!!!!

but, they're no fun to ride slow, or at least near the speed limit and track days aren't my thing anymore, hence the Diavel.... didn't really work and i need a bike i can ride into the city and park as well as scoot around town on so i've always liked Sportsters and decided to have another look, nearly bought a Nightster about 8 years ago but didn't.

Today i paid for but have yet to collect my brand spanking new Forty-Eight. Hope i like it LOL, the forward controls have to go, i'm waiting for Mid control parts which is why i have no new bike yet but it came with V&H short shots and a Screaming Eagle heavy breather that just has to go as well, it's nice but a little bit modern on a retro style bike with white walls....

I already have plans for Tracker bars, a CRG lane splitter mirror and decent grips (how the fuck do HD get away with such crappy grips on every bike in the range???)oh and a decent more conservative air cleaner that is at least a stage1 so i don't need to retune it. Having issues with this for some reason, i can't seem to find much that looks retro but flows well so i'll keep scouring i guess.

Anyway i'm in Brisvegas and should be out terrorising the streets on my new sporty soon.....

    Welcome Paul!

Yeah I too don't like those heavy breathers especially when going for a classic look.  Perhaps you could look at Arlen Ness Big Sucker as it's round and pretty neutral, Stage 1 etc... Like this: Get em in black too.  Basically add face plate that suits.  What are those Diavels like to ride man?  Must be some fun to be had for sure!!

Welcome Paul. Thanks for the introduction. I hope you are not TOO disappointed coming down from a Diavel. They are rockets!! Anyway, both owned by the same company now so you haven't sold out completely. Enjoy your new ride and the interactions and information available on the forum. Don't take anyone too seriously. There's a LOT of good natured banter goes on here. Cheers Steelo

Thanks for the welcome guys, I'm pretty sure i'll love the Sporty, it's different from the Diavel but there would be no point if it wasn't!!!!

Not sure what to think about H-D buying Ducati, that poor brand has had more owners than an FJ holden, if they sacked Lorenzo they could sell every bike for a grand less i know that!!!

cheers, looking at something similar actually.

The Diavel is lots of fun, stupid fast too which is part of the reason i bought the sporty, it's much easier to ride at a more sedate pace and enjoyable doing so, i love them both the same but for different reasons
