Spark Plugs

Just a quick question on plugs.

Stick to the stock HD ones for a basically stock 103 ??

Or go for the iridium ones ?

Want to change em out before my big cross country trip, and carry the old ones as spares.

    Cheers

    Yep OK, what I thought.

Had mine out, and the shoulders are starting to round off, hence my question.

I'll just bung in some new standard HD ones ( 7 bucks each) and keep the others as spares.

I know I shouldn't need em, just like I hope I don't need the tire plugger kit, but better safe than sorry out were I'm heading, not that you can do much on these new fangled things if they die.

    Cheers

Must be the Screaming Eagle ones to get 62k out of em Paul :)

Seriously thanks for the reply's, I'm sure I actually don't NEED to change em, as they should go to at least double what they have on them, but fresh plugs and a good used set as a spare will make me feel better :)

    Cheers

You are all good Ken, it is SRD we are revving up for not reading PBs post properly!! He obviously had a brain fade, which is ok on these forums. Gives us the chance to pay each other out.

This was a back to back test HD plugs vs NGK Iridium after optimising tune a couple of years ago, 3 pulls each set of plugs.  Iridium is the higher HP & torque, compared to standard.  This was my 103, Andrews 50H 4 deg advanced, S&S Turbo Muffleres & S&S Intake.  I am running the Iridium's on this & my 120R, no ion/knock sensor issues.  Had the knockometer installed (additional accoustic sensors for ping/detonation sensing) when tuned the 120R for additional verification.

    Phew, all good then :)

0.5 isn't much really as stated, looks like stock ones, unless I decide I want the gold coated ones for the "Bling factor" LOL

    Cheers

    Guys

PS Off to work for 5 or so weeks so I'll be quite for a bit.

    Cheers again.

I'm glad this topic came up actually. It reminded me to get some new plugs for the next service I need to do before an upcoming trip. Thanks lads.
