What style/type of timing light are ya'll using for timing the 'old' bikes.

how's your pan going. Do you run timing marks smack in the middle of hole or offset? bit of advance or retard?

There are clear timing inspection plugs available, just screw in until touching flywheel, then back off1/4 turn, check timing.

Another way is to get a piece of hose that is a snug fit in the hole, push in until touching flywheel, back off a tad and away ya go.

I used to use a multi meter to get em close (duel points), hooked up across the point connections, when it goes open circuit your points are opening,  then timing light to dial it right in.

Blue Streak points and condenser is my choice.
