I like it....Its tighter than the old FF unit, but as it turns out it was way too big for me (one of the shop guys helped me fit it and explained all the various things to check and look for).  Its one of the Bell basic units and was just under $400.
I'm still going to use an open face in summer etc, but for my daily commute i think its just too risky to keep the open face on.

Sparra, first good to hear from you after a while, via full face stuff. keep well.
But, I think for $199.00 you can get a matt black Harley helmet that does look ok, and keeps ya dial intact, was at dealer today to see how much my bike is rolling for.
Can't afford to scratch my self atm, but would look at them for sure mate. Guess ya don't wanna buy some open face helmets with (not) spray on abrasions, going in da bin.
    Cleanup before spring.

I ride with a shark evoline series 3 convertible, the chin section flips over the back and I ride with open face most of the time but full face when the weather is shit so best of both worlds. Also has internal sun visor.

If going for a full face helm and you're worried about the confined space, stay away from some of the sports helms - as some of them can have quite a narrow visor opening.
Some line of helms have a larger opening/visor viewing screen. Maybe even check out some of the adventure style helms (those visors on them can be taken off). They seem to have the largest viewing window.

    Glad you are OK mate.

I bought a Kelpie who turned into a Labrador when he got older ;)

I have a FF helmet, but also now have a Shark Evo-line 3, bloody hot up here in the summer when going around town in a FF

Worth a look if you are shopping around for a new lid and like an open face for some occasions and a FF for others, they have just rolled out the newest model so the series 3 might be going on sale if you shop around.

    Cheers

I have a few helmets, but was thinking back to the 80's, everyone riding Harley's did not wear helmets and all claimed they caused back injuries. we all had exemptions . can remember a run down the snowy in winter leaving Sydney at night all looked like we had turbans, some had leather flying caps. now we all wear helmets. I have both but started wearing full face drag racing as had to have full face if went quicker than 11.99 quarter, then I started racing screaming eagle Harley class I would ride Sydney to willowbank race ride home so easier to just wear the full got used to it. but open is fashion on a Harley same as no helmet in the 80's and earlier. this was nsw

The shark is I would say an average weight, I had an older ff helmet and the shark is lighter than that but heavier than top of the line compisit ones. I don't find it noticeable or uncomfortable while riding but it is good if a ride turns wet or when riding to work at -7.

I agree, not super light, but not really that heavy either, about the same as the two FF's I own.

I'll see how heavy it feels after two trips of 5 days with 600 to 700 km per day in a couple of weeks LOL

I had to give the hard foam a bit of a tweak were it was up against my forehead, it was digging in and even after a week or so still giving me a headache, so some gentle taps with my small ball peen hammer on the edge solved that problem.

Other than that it's been great.

    Cheers
