Rear Muffler Bracket.

So yeah..... I have a rear muffler bracket with a stripped thread on it. Any tips on how to solve this would be appreciated.
I'm thinking that I need to get the welded-in nut out somehow and then just run a non welded nut with an appropriate bolt .
Anybody done this? I'm not impressed with the idea of throwing a perfectly good set of screaming chicken mufflers out because of a nut that's carked it.

Could you just tap it out to the next size? Thread kits cheap as.

If the thread , (on the slipons), is not badly stripped , you can get a helicoil insert , (the same size as stock bolt), should be enough meat to accept the helicoil after drilling and tapping, (If not, find the next size helicoil, and bolt to suit),, .... Find the shortest helicoil to suit ,, (as there is not a lot of room ,, and the hole is straight through),, put some red loctite on the helicoil while installing .....  Done ....
I did the same thing on 2009 flht ,, and muffler has been rock solid .....
PS ... Instead of buying a helicoil set for one hole ,,go  to a mechanical workshop,, I'd say $20 tops ......
