Ghostwolf59, I tried to comprehensively insure my 94 Fatboy a few years ago with Shannons and the rep started questioning my riding ability, made the stupid mistake of saying I had been off bikes for about 6 years (was 40 at the time and had been riding since 17 ) to have kids - he then refused to insure me as I didn't have enough experience riding.
I get that middle aged men who had a few years off and get back into riding and feel they're still Evel Kinevel may pose a higher risk- but fuck me at least offer a higher premium or excess, not flat out refuse insurance.
Rang Swann and had no problem at all insuring the bike with extras - never had to make a claim, so can't say how they would be to deal with then but otherwise - excellent. Current bike (17 SGS) is also insured thru Swann.
Honestly wouldn't give Shannons my business again. Yes I know I could have said I had continually ridden and gotten insurance - but if they give me that me grief BEFORE I had insurance with them, what are they going to be like IF I make a claim?
Greenslips, I always ring around, but have used Monaland for the last few years and am happy with their prices.

I've been with Shannons now for 7 years without an issue. They insured my 2013 Fatboy because I have a 1973 HQ Monaro with them. They would not of insured the bike without the car. Every dealing with them has been smooth and trouble free.
