What options are available for forks?

Like the title says, what options are available for forks on sportster? I just did a rebuild on my superlow and the I have some pretty funky corrosion between the oil seal and dust seal, and the stanchions are a bit knocked around. They're not a write off but I can justify a repleacemt.
I tried to put a spacer in to compensate for my freckle on the seat but I got sick of trying to get the cap on so I've put that in the too hard basket for now.

If I could get complet new forks that I can set up for me, that would be the preferred option, but if I need to pull them apart again, I can live with that too.

I should mention I like function over form so I could easily live with upside down forks if they will work best for me.

You could always go a Kraus moto inverted setup but you'll be dropping decent cash,  3k ish.
Otherwise your best option will be to rebuild using valve emulators and the correct springs for your weight.

the Kraus moto inverted forks look promising, but like you pointed out, the price is getting up there. I won't take that option off the table though.
I've done some searching, but I haven't come across anyone with linger damper tubes, can you recommend a company that does them?

Not sure if this will work on your model, but here you go:

Cut and paste the link for a cost effective conversion of your front end. Cheers, TC

Thats rather interesting. If those damper tubes are cheap enough, it would probably be worth giving it a go.

I just realised the manual said to use a rod to push the damper rod out of the slider tube but mine fell out when I tipped the tubes upside down. Should the damper rod be a snug fit?

last time I pulled a sporty forks apart I had to un bolt the damping rod from bottom of fork slider. should not just fall out as what happens if you do a wheelie? fork slides axle and front wheel would fall out.

I might be getting my terminology mixed up. It seems the motorcycle world uses slightly different lingo to that of the down hill MTB world I come from.
So the damper rod bolts to the lower (slider) but its inside the stanchion (slider tube? or have I got the terminology round the wrong way?).
When I pulled mine down, I unbolted the rod, then the manual said to use something to push the damper rod out of the stanchion but mine slid out unobstructed.

Ricor Intiminators. Hands down best thing you can do for your front end.
These will take away the front end plunge-forward and turning the dip in suspension when taking a roundabout.

Not a hard job either to install. Just need to strip each fork down and drop the valves in and fill with lighter weight oil. No drilling of the dampers required as with the racetech gold emulators. I used Belrays 5W fork oil. I used the stock springs as they were ok.
