Wireless Headset Interface Module for 6.5 boom box

    China, been interested in this myself. Did you order the additional harness? still not sure if it's required - the US sites get distracted pretty easy and I haven't seen a definitive reply either way yet. I will still most likely go this way soon, would just like to save a dollar where I can.

    Gidday folks ... Can't remember if I have asked this question elsewhere already ... But with the Harley Branded sena 20s headsets can the mouthpieces be folded up out of the way or are they permanently positioned in front of the mouth .

    Sweet ... thanks for that ... now just hoping they can get the Module , Harness and Headsets before we take off for Harley Days in 4 and a half weeks ... they tell there is a back order for the Harness , supposed to be some coming , fingers crossed .

    Gidday folks ... waiting on a harness to arrive for one of the new hands free Bluetooth headsets ... one of the PR blurbs says they can pair up to 2 different devices / phones .


    Does anyone know if that means the Missus can listen to her Music while I listen to mine ... and I don`t imagine it would but could she listen to her stuff while I make or take a call .

    I have on order a 2018 triglide and was anxious to get the communications right so I have been doing research to see what comes with the new bike i.e headsets Bluetooth/cable connection.
     
    The dealer is not much help at the moment. I understand that the CVO models may come with Bluetooth headsets.If you go to law-abiding biker.com website  it has some real good information 

    I think caution is needed if considering other than Harley genuine Bluetooth headsets.Has anyone taken delivery of a 2018 trike and can tell me what communicatioñ is standard?

    Stealth, the system Law Abiding Biker is promoting is the Sena Freewire.
    The only issue I can see with this is that it has to be either plugged into the audio connection on top of your tank or spliced into your wiring harness.
    You also need 2 freewire units if you want the pillion to be connected.

    Yeah Yeah Yeah.. I hear you, when I got my digital hearing aids in. I'm, subjected to humming ma banjo music, on the go....Keeps me happy!
    Think China has this subject wired.

    China or anyone else for that matter who has gone down the path with these new WHIM units ... have had my module and back ordered harness fitted along with a twin headset .


    Was hoping to use the gear on the ride to Harley Days and back ... Dealer informs me today they are not able to Flash the unit yet as they haven`t received the updates from Harley yet .


    Has anyone else had theirs done yet and what do you reckon the hassle would be ... is it not just a computer program update that Harley could send to their Dealers by computer ... they have had these updates in USA for most of this year from all reports ... not sure if it is Harley USA or Harley Australia dragging the chain .


    And if these units cannot be Flashed before we leave in a week and a half will anything on the units work ... intercom or maybe music in Mono ... $ 1500 for all the gear and Labour but can`t use it yet ... Bummer .

    Lol ... Hey Doc , sort of know how you feel , had a few Bundy's last night myself drowning my sorrows ... Not the end of the world just disappointing not to have it sorted before we leave for Harley Days .
    They are telling me that the USA software version does not work for Australia ... Seems a tad strange to me ... Not giving up just yet , Morgan and Wacker tell me they can flash it so will check them out ... Just wanted to get it done where I got the bike , trying to be loyal .

    Might be wrong but I reckon it might be a case of me being the Guinea pig as this is the first one Gasoline Ally has attempted .

    China I reckon you will be all over it but when sussing out all the you tube videos they say you can go into the settings and adjust quite a few things to hopefully get rid of the distortion ... Knowing my luck I will have the same issue ... Do you have your's on a Full Face or Open Face Helmet .

    Just checking ... With the Headsets shouldn't the intercom work as a stand alone option even if you don't pair them to the Boom Box ... Just thought they would work like a Walkie talkie .

    Thanks China ... Did you have any knowledge about the intercom side of things ... Can the Headsets be used just by themselves or do they need to be paired to the Boom Box .

    Well picked the bike up yesterday , had a couple of things done ... One being the WHIM module and 20s headsets and as previously reported they were not able to Flash it for the Bluetooth capabilities ... Dealer Principal , Rob , really nice bloke is more than a little confused as he is of the understanding that all Aussie dealers would have had access to software upgrades at the same time ... He is sussing it out and is doing what he can before we leave for Harley Days in 9 days time .
    So have the Headsets ... Couple of things , to the people who have them ... Did they come with any instructions at all , mine has zero , thinking Tech may of taking them out when installing them on helmets ... There was no charging USB cable except the huge cigarette lighter attachment but no adaptor to plug in power point ... Used a phone charger and cable and worked fine to charge headsets ... Am going to use headsets as stand alone intercom until upgrades are sorted .

    Of course only Water resistant not water proof so my question is how much rain would you ride in before removing the Headsets from the cradle and am I right in thinking the removable part of headsets is the main part to keep dry ... Will the contact area of the cradle be affected by constant rain .

    That's good news about the rain not affecting the units .
    Paired the Headsets today for intercom use , sound pretty dam good .

    Will suss dealers out about instructions and power cable and also why they haven't got software upgrades and other dealers have them .

    Anyone in the know have an understanding of the batteries in these headset units ... Ended up using a phone charger and cable which just happened to match as dealers have misplaced our cable from the box somehow ... Worked no worries so all good there .
    My question was are these the type of batteries that one can charge even if they are not exactly flat ... They say they have a 10 hour stand by use and about a 2.5 hours constant use ... Some batteries technology don't recommend opportunity charging where other types it doesn't seem to matter .

    So far the Headsets by themselves work great with intercom , music , and phone calls ... Just have to get units flashed to bike now to see if they are just as good with the whole WHIM setup , time will tell I suppose .

    Can you pop in spare charged batteries along the way?

    For the money HD are charging, I would want a nice Blonde to answer the phone and play my songs.  I reckon I will stay with my  Scala G 9. It's crystal clear and runs mobile & GPS, just great.

    My Bad ... Checked again and they reckon 10 Days not 10 hours stand by ... And talk time is surpossed to be 13 hours ... I think I got the 2.5 figures from the charge time from flat ... Sorry for wrong information .
