That finish that has replaced the chrome is really bloody nice. Shame Crop-duster you've had bad experiences with your dealer. At HH Adelaide only had excellent service from day 1. Could not complain at all. Now that Fatboy......mmmm wonder if the Wife would notice?

Oh well, could be worse i guess, thanks mate.

Saw the new FatBoy at M&W today in white and it looks really good in person, wow it stands out, i was having a good nosey over it when the sales guy came over for a chat, i'll be test riding it while mine gets a service i think...

Sold my 2012 FatBoy last week with stage 4 etc etc
Purchased the new 2018 Fatboy with 114 in the industrial grey , not much at all I dont like about it , and is far out weighed by what I do ,,, rides well  .
In the process of starting some custom upgrades etc 1 3/4 bars by Burleigh , heavy industry grips and mirrors etc
Has anyone done braided lines on one of these bikes yet with the 2 piece cables , they are a different set up to previous years and costing me a packet with Harley lines ??
    Searching for an alternative .
Was looking at the   2 Brothers pipes but not decided yet ,, want to take my time with the performance upgrades and enjoy the stock 114 for a while .
BTW the biggest improvement with these bikes is the new frame and suspension rear and front . completely different ride and handling to previous years .
Gave the Breakout a thrashing the other day and is a completely different bike to last years model as agreed by a few others who have one and have test ridden the new one  .
Main down point on Breakout for me residing in Perth atm is the 13.9 tank wont get far if your pushing a 114 on a country run or across the big paddock to east .

Nice one ballistic, thanks for the report.  Im very jealous.  Intend on taking the 2018 for a spin as soon as time allows.  Sounds like you are happy with your new ride.  looking forward to some more first hand reports on how the bike goes.

Most likely remove the boards off my 2018 Fatboy and go with forward controls pegs in the next few weeks
I was having a close look at the Breakout controls and reckon they will bolt straight on ,,anyone have any info on if someone has done this yet or if there are any issues with it .
Dealers don't seem to have been given a lot of info on the smaller changes to these new models and seem like they are playing catch up which is not fair on them or us by Harley.
Reckon I will wait a fair while before undertaking any performance mods .

My local dealer threw me the keys straight up - It was very light, well balanced and pulled like a freight train. Pretty comfortable for a 6'4'' guy out of the box too.
Great looking bike in person and my pick out of the 114 breakout and 114 fatbob. The 34k price tag for the 114 put me off though...

Rode the breakout and the fatboy today.  No denying they are a different bike to previous years and truck loads of power.  I found the fatboy to be a bit cramped in the riding position would've liked to be reaching a little more to the bars.  The seat was bum numbing after about 30ks but bike handled well.  rear suspension much better but found the front a bit jumpy.  Breakout seat I found to be more comfortable and a bit more bucket like.  The reach was much better to the bars.  Looks like I need a breakboy or a fatout :-)
Different strokes for different folks it seems.

This could be a storm in a Tea cup or it could be an interesting debate.
Question. Can anybody enlighten me as to why the 2018 Fatboy has gone to having an offset front wheel/guard ?.
Surely the offset continues through to the rear for correct tracking and alignment, weight distribution etc. but wouldnt you want your wheels running thru centre of the frame, centrifugal forces and all.
As the owner of an 07 Fatboy, and knowing the confusion it left at the end of 2006, I am more than a bit curious after attending the Sydney Moto Show last weekend and seeing this feature on a newly produced Harley. I had a look at the other models and all seemed to be 'Front wheel dead centre of the forks, But not the Fatty.
I dont wish to burst any bubbles out there. Especially the guys that have picked up a newby without noticing.
I dig my 07, offset and all, but Im genuinely interested to start this convo as none of the Harley reps at the  Moto show could fill me in as to why. To be honest, they hadnt noticed nor been informed the offset was there...

I had a 2007 fatboy with the offset. You never feel any difference and you wouldn't notice it either unless someone pointed it out to you. Most owners dont even know. I'm sure the designing engineers had their reasons and it isn't an issue.

The photo doesn't do the CVO justice I saw one in the big cardboard box that the new owner was ripping apart and yea I never got baggers till that !
It's freaking art on wheels , the attn to detail and styling were the best I'd ever seen.
