    Hey hdforums members,

Firstly nice to see a well functioning HD website from OZ.

Just saying g'day, first Harley for me, always wanted a 48 they look fat, then found out they don't lean at all without SLOWING DOWN (coming from a Triumph Street triple 675) went onto wanting a Fatbob seeing as they have the best HD lean angle along side the brand new Roadsters and realized the missus wouldn't approve either of the latter 2 price's so settled on a 2014 Sportster XL1200C haha there it is...

    Cheers.

After the Triumph you're not going to find anything in the HD range with that kind of zip.  Best of luck with the new bike.

    All hail the great Sporty!

Good choice in bike, its about the closest your going to get to the Triumph from a performance and handling point of view as all the big twins are just bloody slow and heavy (cannot beat the power/weight ratio of the 1200 and when coupled with clutch-less shifting they are fun).

Hahaha yeah I understood the handling wasn't going to be the same ballpark as the Streety but I'm getting a lil long in the tooth at 44, happy to pretend by telling myself to slow down.
I'm actually quite surprised at the grunt this little (250kg) porky/sporty has!! No performance mods other than slip-on SnS pipes and it was wanting to stand up in second up a hill at WOT, I'm in love, its so f*cking mechanical its like a big mechano set slapped together with its own personality/spirit pumping through a wobbly set of jugs wanting to jump out of the frame hahaha....anyway let the customizing begin tehehe watch the missus trip as the little packages keep arriving in the mail....
Yes I will upload a pic of how I bought it.
I'm about to order some more along the line of safety parts over the weekend, then worry about power down the track.
First mods, replace egg yoke indicator lenses, headlight replaced with higher LUMEN black LED type, small backrest for the family members, OEM grips, footpegs, shift lever have got to go...that'll do it for a while at this stage.
Tussuck thanks mate, tell me more about clutchless shifting though, is that possible without damage to the gearbox on it? As it is, its quite the clunky shifting gearbox, but with every ride I'm getting way smoother changes, and not feeling so clunky just gotta find that sweet RPM I think?.

    welcome & good choice, I like sporty's.
the triumph 675 a good bike too. just the sporty gets torque at lower rev so thats what you will notice. makes em feel grunty. but don't have the speed. still Australia  with a slow max speed limit, can't ride fast anyway.
    cheers
