Found something interesting so thought I'd share it.

    -Purchased mine in Sydney AU.
    -Installed 1 inch lowering block.
-Noticed the look wasn't quite what I was expecting.
-Looked closer to the photos online
    -And below is my finding.
The gap between cats eye and the rim in my bike (even w 1 inch lowering block) is still higher than mericas model. Hm..
Note : preload adjuster ring don't affect the actual length of the shock.

It is not a new issue mate. Been going on for years. I have a 2010 Iron. When I bought it new back in 2010, all of the Harley advertising, both TV and print, showed the American model. It looked super cool, with 11 inch rear shocks to give that slammed look and a side mount number plate. Then my Aussie model arrived with 13.5 inch shocks and a foot of ugly plastic hanging from the chopped rear guard to mount the number plate. It looked like a dirt bike in comparison with the American model and the marketing material. So, in true HD fashion, I installed 11 inch shocks myself as well as the American market side mount plate, ditching the plastic guard extension in the process. Now, all you have discovered is what has been the case for many years - the "international" model Iron has 13.5 inch rear shocks and a much higher ride height than the American market model with its 11 inch shocks. The lowering blocks have taken your ride height down an inch, but it needs to come down another 1.5 inches to match the American models.....

You could get the longer oem shocks from eBay USA or Yankee forums. But best just getting better quality aftermarket shocks in the size you want
