I have a 2012 FLD, 103 with D&D fatcat, HD breather, and SE race tuner. It has done 22K KMS
I have a set of Andrews 54 cams, new lifters and pushrods to go in very shortly and I am wondering what to do to the motor. The general view is that these cams like 10-10.2:1 compression.
Should I get my cylinders bored to 107 to get the desired compression or just mill the heads? I was thinking about getting some headwork done also.
I mostly ride spirited highway and like a nice fat torque range but would also like decent acceleration around town
I will be getting it tuned after mods
    Cheers

Childers is haunted. It’s a policy of mine to always have enough fuel to speed through that part of Qld.
No amount of XXXX makes that shit right. Fact.

I'm confused (its a normal state for me though).

Milling the heads will increase the compression on your 103 somewhat although I have no idea what the starting compression is to begin with.  Boring out to 107 is going to need new pistons etc so I suppose you could get high comp ones to suit the cam.

In all honesty it needs to come together as a 'matched package' in order to see good results.

Best value for money for midrange torque is bore out you cylinders to 107, buy pistons to get to 10.2 if possible. Even pistons to get to 10.0 would work with a thinner head gasket

106 with flat top pistons and 30 thou head gasket

will get you right on the money for 54H cam.

    Head work, oh yes.
