Gave the old girl a birthday today, all oils done, new plugs and valve clearances done.

Spit and polish, still cleans up ok.

Anyone else own one of these (Guzzi's in general) quirky things where they put the motors in the wrong way round?

Just a little different to the hd  :-), good fun all the same.

That looks like a fucking beauty far canal!

Your forum name comes to mind as far as the side stand goes on mine mate.

Need double jointed hips to deploy it when still on the bike and need to be on fairly

    level ground.

If your on a camber leaning to the left too much she wants to lift the front wheel and

    topple over :-).

Could be worse and have a self retracting stand, may mates old mk5 had a lay down after

a strong gust of wind took just enough weight off it for it to flip up.

Mine has 95k on it now and still going strong.

I owned 2 Guzzis before I had my dyna, a LeMans V11 in red/silver and a Norge GT in silver but I sold both of them.
I loved the V11, it was a wonderful bike but my arthritis made it almost impossible to ride and the Norge wasn't as good a tourer as the Street Glide is to be honest.

Both of the pictures were taken when I was buying the bikes, not selling them (I've never been very organized about taking photos of my bikes)

I've got a Centauro, it's a bit different in that it's got the slightly detuned 4 valve overhead cam motor that the Daytona has, it's great to ride, once it gets past 5000rpm it just goes mental,

Am an old Guttzi man myself, as Geoff, I didn't take photos, from habit, as was evidence.
Had a Mark 4 with many up grades by Mr. Barry at Ferntree Gully Vic. .
As quoted by Barry will "pull like a School boy". And she did! (Told then Mrs. had to drop off motor for slight oil leak) Ha.
Then bought same time a V11 and added a Magni fairing, Sliver and what a ride, BUT, then I figured whoa, this engine, is the wrong way round, after 20 years.....
Then purchased  my first new Harley, then, my second new Harley 10 years later, which shall be buried with me.
But Guttzi was bloody good, a PIG, but a character. Guzzi"s  are there, near HD.

I think you guys have got it arse about, Guzzi's do have more character than most Harleys, I say most because older Harleys do have character, however Harley started losing character around 1984 and it was completely gone by 1999 when the twink came out, the more a bike is refined the less character there is,

I like all bikes, so like Guzzi too.
just back in 2000 I was in the states traveling with friends from Texas , while up in Watertown sd we got a ride on a Guzzi Californian as the owner wanted me and my Texas friends to ride it, I had a kick start shovel at the time, after the ride & when we were on the road heading back to Texas down mid west, we both said, that Guzzi felt like a tractor.
