Seen 1 at the dealer the other day, not a fan. Kinda get the feeling the bike is aimed female riders. Windcreen is fucking pointless and i reckon ud get alot of wind buffering off of it

sthrewth those pipes look like some sort of Matchbox model creation, front fender is Shite, fairing needs a bit bigger screen bags are only loaf of bread size . I don`t think it measures up to a Roadking for me, but I guess for some, each to their own

Took an extended ride on a demo Sport Glide. Both one and two up.
Rode it both ways over my favourite bit of rough twisty stuff (without the cheese and kisses). Varied riding other than highway and a busy ( well busy as it gets in Hobart ) type commuter run.
Ground clearance isn't too bad, side stand on the left and peg on the right. Totally solid over shit surfaces.

Brakes the same as the Softail Slim S. A blinder of the binder once I bedded the pads to the disc.
The 4 piston Nissin is the best single caliper HD have done to date.

Adjustable preload rear shock the best experienced on HD.
The suspension in general is very compliant ( read soaks up the bumps ) complimenting the new frame.
Inverted forks way superior to the budget (shit) efforts of the past.
Side stand is short and sits the bike more upright. Steering great, easy to weave through the traffic.
New wheel sizes are a great choice, the Michelin Diarrhoeas (Scorchers) should be binned if you ride in the wet.

Wife none too chuffed about the size of the pillion seat, but the main seat is bloody comfortable and supportive.
Handlebars and riding position perfect for my fat frame and short legs. Not everyone is 6 foot tall.

Still can't cop that new 107 engine. It has torque and power for sure, but the whine and other noises; erk! Not for me.
When riding the bike, fortunately you can't see the oil radiator or the wheels.
New instrument is easy to read and I like the refreshed graphics.
Funky fairing is okay, but needs a screen to be anything more than a bug collector. Of course that's available at extra cost.
Plastic side opening bags almost a waste of time due to a lack of space, despite the clever mounting and opening design.
At least they hide the yawning air gap between wheel and rear fender.

For comparison I ride a LowRider S with Ohlins front and rear and twin 4 piston Nissin front brakes from the XR1200 on spoked wheels.
First Harley in 1990, owned the odd one since. Riding for 50 years. Can usually keep up with the pack.

I'll stick with the LR S for now, the Sport Glide is the only current offering that warms the blood of this old reptile.
Thanks to Richardsons Hobart, always generous with demos.

Went into the local dealer on Satdee to pick up some bits, managed to cast an eye over the Sport Glide.  Nup, will stick with my Evo Heritage.

I don't regret buying my Street Glide but I'd have been tempted to save $9000 and buy one of these if they'd been available 6 months ago.

If I'm travelling to a bike rally then I've got the trailer behind me so the big panniers on the Street Glide aren't used and for day trips the little bags on the Sport Glide are enough.

I'd miss the bigger fairing in winter and the GPS on long trips but yeah... I'd have been tempted.

In another 4 years or so when I'm looking to trade in if they're still around I'll probably be even more tempted.

    Hi All,

New to forum, and about to pick up this week my new HD Sports Glide. A quick question what is the widest tyre that can fit on a 180 rim

I agree with fatslim, a comfortable ride for short fat bastards. It seems to do everything expected of it. A hell of a lot of top engine noise which could be masked with some decent pipes but those wheels, you couldn't look at it in the shed for too long.

Just a question..... does that tank decal atually read 'Shit', or is it just my aging eyes?
