Hi all, long time lurker first time poster, 30 y/o dude from Brisbane checking in.
I've recently upgraded from my Sportster 48 [bought new in 2011] , to a 2010 Heritage Softail Classic just 2 days ago.

I loved my 48 but needed something a little more refined for 2-up cruising and a more relaxed ride overall.

I picked the bike up from Newcastle NSW on Friday and rode her home to Brisbane on Saturday.
Loving the ride quality and overall feel of the bike so far and covered the ~900kms in about 11 hours with some long time in the saddle. I've never ridden another Harley besides my 48 so it was trial by fire for the journey home which we managed with just 2 fuel stops and a lunch break half way. I didn't even come up sore on Sunday so am already loving the Heritage.

I'm 30 years old and copping a fair bit from people already commenting on upgrading to a "grandpa bike", though the other 98% love the bike and already have had a few people comment and telling me what a beautiful machine it is while out and about the last couple days.

I've done the offroad dirtbiking and sportsbikes, had the loud fast Harley flying in my 20's and now I'm looking forward to some touring/day trips and companion cruising without sore arse cheeks and stiff backs.

    Cheers! - Stinky.

    Hopefully these photos post okay.

The day I brought her home, First ever Harley. 2011 Sportster 48

Had a 1 week wait till the Stage 1.

A few years later came the blacked out "bobber" years with 10" Z Bars, tank lift and the usual.

Then came the tank upgrade after a few too many close call fuel stops and a mustang seat combo to try and get some sort of comfort for longer rides.

New to me 2010 Heritage Softail Classic. Stage 1 with V&H pipes [not sure on exact yet]
Stripped it down last night to get a feel for converting to/from solo to 2-up/"Tour" mode. Coming from the sporty I had mostly blacked out to this much chrome feels like there's a disco ball parked in the garage, but i'm digging it more every day.

With the bags, shield and pillion setup fitted. This is how I did the journey from NSW to QLD and was so grateful for that shield.
