Years ago when hosting was expensive and slow Photobucket was used on here quite a bit.  That's why many of the older threads now contain their ransom image.  They provided a decent and free service for years but then decided to completely cock up their reputation by trying to ransom people to host their images.  These days things have changed.  You can upload as many pics as you like to this site, as the server can handle it and hosting has become cheaper.  As far as Photofuckit is concerned, their name is now mud.

The upload feature in this forum is pretty handy. Any other time I use imgur. However, if you don't upload via your own account, I don't know how long those images stay hosted for. :\

Thanks for the link! This will be handy on my other car forum which has whole bunch of DIY info with images hosted in photobucket!

Thanks to this thread I was motivated to find a solution for Photofucket's annoying ransom image and I think I've done it.  See below, I've linked to the exact same image on Photobucket with two different links.  The top link displays the image:

    http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae226/deacoll71/FATBOY007.jpg~original

The bottom link is the original PB link posted years ago which now produces the ransom image:

    http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae226/deacoll71/FATBOY007.jpg?t=1269576332

As you can see, the only difference is that the top link changes the t=1269576332, to ~original.  Once that's done the image displays.  Good news is I can write a script to do this automatically for all old Photobucket links in the system.
