    Hi all,
I currently own a 2017 Breakout purchased in September, it is now in for a service and they noticed that there wasn’t enough tranny oil when they changed my handle bars they forgot to top it up... keeping my fingers crossed that the Clutch or gearbox has no signs of damage.

It’s great to hear and talk Harley’s looking toward to the chats

    Welcome to the forum.
The oil should have been done at the time they noticed it was low, not leaving it till later.
Hope all is well and you're enjoying the bike.

Hi Phillip, nice bike there mate and welcome to the forum.
Your intro is troubling in as much as transmission oil needs to be changed every 32,000klm after the first service. So if it was needing some first service and there have been no oil leaks in your shed or where you park it, or on the underside of your engine/gearbox then you would have to think it did not have the correct level when you bought it. I.E, when it left the factory.
How low was the tansmission/gearbox oil on the first service? I would like to know that if it were my bike.
If the blokes/business who did the service were the ones you bought the bike from it might be a good idea to get them to acknowledge in writing (or have your smart phone recording them when you ask for the written document) that the gear oil was low/empty? first service. That way at least you will have some ammunition to fight back with if your gearbox shits itself prematurely.
People fuck up, even on the assembly line at the HD factory. It is a fact. It is also a shit when you get the bike that someone else fucked up on.
My brand newie had to have the crankcases split and re-sealed pretty shortly after I bought it due to an oil leak. They told me it was a 14 hour job!. Lucky it was under warranty, but I was still pissed that it was my brand new bike it had to happen to.

Might be a good idea to get the workshop manual, even the little owners manual you get with a new bike has enough info to to the basic maintenence stuff yourself, Or at least see if things are being done by others as they should be when you are getting "under warranty services".
