Hello everyone I am a 16-yr-old from Melbourne, last year I got really interested in motorcycles(Harley’s) and this year i have decided to get Street 500 as my first bike when I turn 18 and get my Ls. There’s still a year and half to go so I will be pretty active on this forum to learn as much as I can from more experienced riders. I do have some questions regarding safety gear and how good street 500 is for a beginners bike but I will leave that for another topic.

Welcome mate good to see some young fella's on the forum, The Street 500 should be a good learners bike, Have you had any dirt bike experience as it's always good to learn on the softer dirt/sand/mud etc, road rash is not nice

I agree with wideglide NZ. Consider getting yourself a cheap chook chaser and go to a bike park or find a farm to ride around on.  Learn what it’s like to have front and rear wheels sliding and pointing in different directions. You can learn a lot about bike control safely away from the hard asphalt. Plus it’s fun.

    Welcome aboard.
Great to see a young fella wanting to learn before hitting the road.  Plenty of info on this forum and if you've got the bucks, do a certified safe rider course.  Might sound nerdy to some but believe me the tips you will pick up, even for experienced riders, are well worth it.
Enjoy yourself when you get on the road.
    Cheers.
