Hey guys in the process of restoring the trusty rusty 120y grandma spec . Want to keep pretty stock maybe A15 with Webber’s ..
needs a lot of panel work which will start early 2018 ..
any other datto fans here ??

Loved the Datsun's. Had a 180B years ago. Your 120Y looks good. What's the go with the asian writing on the number plates. I thought this was strayla.

Had someone in a 120Y smash into the front of my house a few years back , he got is starred and in the process of doing a runner reversed into the power pole he missed on the way in.
He still managed to get it started again and made his escape.

yeah in NSW we have some weird custom plate designs.. Datsun being Jap made it has that nap heritage ..
i will turn this car into a JDM style car.. nice wheels and some nice paint..
needs a good tidy up...

Tried to tow Dad's HR with one. Attached the tow rope inside the boot as there was nowhere else. Drove forward and ripped the whole boot lip flat. Horrible things.

yeah I just love dattos.. I'm 31 and my first car was a 1200 ute .. ive owned two 1200 utes , one 200b and now this 120y..
I have owned Turbos / superchargers / v8s but for some reason I'm still drawn back to dattos.. I guess you either love them or hate them...
I'm not a holden fan at all.. owned two both were shit boxes VX SS and VE Calais blown 6ltr.. I will never ever again own another holden in my life..
I have owned a few fords from XD to EF .. never once had an issue drove awesome...
if I had the money I would have a nice Black XB 2 door coupe in the garage....

I will do a engine transplant next year to an A15 with triple webbers.. had that setup in my 1200 ute.. the thing went like the clappers..

I love these sort of projects. Many of my mates had Datsuns over the years, they bring back memories. Keep us posted on progress.

your a young bloke limpn, so grew up in different era to me. I always had v8 Utes, couple of forward control vans and trucks. I had one datto 1600 in 1970 for a very short time had no guts, I got it new had it 6 months. replaced it with an fc holden that had a repco motor, bored n twin carbs. I've never really had a love of cars always more into riding, still am.

Haha that SCAT looks sweet..
I love different cars I mean I know Datsun isn't known for there looks or been able to not get affected by rust. but that's what I like about it..
doesn't matter where I go I also seem to meet someone with a DATSUN story..
it also attracts the ladies to .. they are all over 70 but hey you take what you can get...
did some work on it over the xmas break ... put the original centre console in , fitted new badges to the sides, fixed the rear seat mounting , pulled dash apart and replaced all the knobs with new ones , did a service on it , dropped the oil , filters , new plugs and leads ...
took my 2 yr old for her first run in the datto.. looking at this picture I think she might of been embarrassed to be seen in such a heap ..
